Travel Charme Kurhaus Binz - Binz - Building
1
9.4 Excellent (2,191 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Travel Charme Kurhaus Binz is located directly at the sea bridge and only the promenade separates from the kilometre-long white sandy beach of the largest Baltic seaside resort on the island of Rügen. The imposing building with over 100 years of history has 137 rooms, suites and residences. Every single room combines the historical flair of the place with the modern style of the hotel. The same goes for the two restaurants, the bar and the café. From the Puria Spa to the fireplace room: Relaxed, unobtrusive and airy, light - simply perfect for a holiday experience on the Baltic coast!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great Service, great breakfast, lovely location if you want to be centrally based. Good sized bedroom (we had a side seaview room), nice to have free drinks in the room. Good storage for clothes etc.
Cons: We really enjoyed our stay, however some comments: Bathroom (shower, no bath) was on the small side, we enjoyed the spa facilities but the pool area was pretty chilly, and the temperature in the bedroom was also tricky to regulate. We were disappointed to find twin beds rather than a double and there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Great location- and sauna is nice. Though the pool looks tired as does the gym
Cons: That hotel lives on a tradition and status quo that just doesn’t live up to its standards. Especially compared with the big 5 star hotels around the world. I had several rude encounters with management and staff that shows that the guest’ well being is not the top priority here.
6.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great, close proximity to the sea. Property was very clean.
Cons: A lot of the staff didn’t speak english. As smile from time to time, especially from the breakfast staff, doesn’t hurt. The beds were a bit too soft for my taste.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: + top location and beach strip + super sauna/ spa area with indoor / outdoor pool as highlight + great breakfast + classic Kurhotel style + very friendly staff + one of my top 10 hotels to stay in Germany because of its individual style
Cons: + beds could be a bit more comfortable for a hotel in this class
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was VERY friendly and helpful! Thank you! Pillow service - choice of pillow based on how you sleep. Need I say more? location (in the middle of Binz, right on the beach & the main street) pool & wellness area - clean, broad offer of sauna's and a very cool pool! Room & balcony - comfortable, clean, nice balcony, very quiet breakfast - all you could wish for buffet with friendly service
Cons: My room (despite having it on -5 and fan stand 3) did not cool down much at night. For me personally it was too hot. It did not seem like cool air was coming out of the fan. I'm not sure if this was specific to my room, or if it may even have been me who just likes to sleep in a cooler place, but I'd have expected to be able to bring it down a bit more. That being said this did not influence my appreciation of the stay! I have a resolution to come back yearly - it was amazing!! Worth every penny.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Came here with my husband for 2 nights not knowing what to expect. The location was great - very central to all of the shops and restaurants with direct access to the promenade. The breakfast was included in our rate and was very hearty and tasty. We also got a welcome drink. Rooms were a little old fashioned but well maintained and very clean. Surprisingly minimal toiletries given a room exceeding $200 USD per night. There was a body lotion and a body wash clearly labeled, but the only other toiletry was a mystery liquid in the shower in what looked like an old timey perfume bottle. We bought shampoo and conditioner from the grocery and I had to use a bar of soap I brought from home. Weather was too cold to frolic on the beach, and we also didn't need the A/C - a big draw when booking - as the weather was quite cool (high 50s/low 60s F). I felt the room got stuffy so we opened all the windows. I'm not convinced the A/C would have done the trick had it been very hot...

Pros: Very nice hotel with good resto in the middle of the shopping street. Rooms are well equiped and comfortable. Good place to stay when you visit the area. Friendly staff.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I stayed in this hotel to participate in the Ironman Rugen race. Structure above expectations with spacious and comfortable room. The breakfast is excellent and plentiful. Even the restaurant has an excellent quality at reasonable prices. Nothing to say about the position! Close to the "center" , to the event finish line and, of course, to the sea. Highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing in particular. The only remark is about the languages. As Bitz is mostly a german tourist resort sometimes the staff doesn't speak english and it could be complicated to communicate with them. However, their kindness and courtesy easily overcome this problem.

Pros: 1. Great location: directly on the Strandpromenade. Binz is a lovely place. 2. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Very clean and tidy hotel. 3. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: 1. The room rate quoted in the hotel literature was €130 per night (double room side sea view + breakfast). Through booking.com we were charged €172 per night. We were very disappointed with this additional charge. 2. No coffee or tea making facility in hotel. 3. Reception closed from 5pm to 8am.

7.9 Good
Pros: Bathroom was clean, room was clean. It's good that there is a elevator, plus you can bring your dog.
Cons: Parking is much to expensive. Pls write on the booking.com the price 11euros. Our room was to the street, in the summer season all rooms with window to the street should have an aircon, or at least a fen . Blankets are to thin, to small, to short. No spare blankets in the room. There is a minibar in the room, but price list is nowhere to be found. We arrived to the hotel at 17.50 , nobody was at the reception, so we needed to wait quite some time to get our keys.Note that check in is written 15 till 18'oclock.So if its till 18,why nobody was there?
7.1 Good
Pros: Great Position, close to the beach. Big room with sofa and facilities. Clean
Cons: Mini micro bathroom.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great wellness area. Very clean and comfortable, satisfying breakfast.
Cons: The bathroom had a terrible smell that forced us to have our balcony door constantly open.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spa, breakfast
Cons: None
7.1 Good
Pros: When we arrived we were shown to a room overlooking the rear car park and we asked to be moved to a sea view. We were relocated to the side of the hotel with a glimpse of the sea. Dinner that night took hours and the staff were very frustrated that the kitchen was so slow. We would never stay there again.
Cons: See above
7.9 Good
Pros: The breakfast is excellent and stands out of other hotels in this category. Moreover, the SPA area is new and very nice. The hotel has an unbeatable location right at the beachfront which makes this a prime spot. We had dinner in their restaurant which was absolutely fantastic and way above average.
Cons: This is a 4-star superior hotel. I felt that the staff is sometimes a bit too casual and is not really willing to go the extra mile. We asked for an ironing board and the staff could not help us. I mean every middle-class business hotel has an ironing board, this 4-star superior should definitely make one appear. You pay 200€ per night (incl. breakfast) and these little things should be the minimum standard. When we checked in and entered the room, the first thing we saw was a message from the hotel which told us that we had payed too much by using booking.com. Although I understand the marketing behind this idea it gives the customer a bad feeling that he payed too much. Moreover, noone asked us if we had enjoyed our stay or if we considered coming back. Apparently, there are not at all interested in acquiring regular customers.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly service (reception and housekeeping), great location, good service for Ironman participants (bikeroom etc.)
Cons: restaurant service ("sorry no table available without reservation" - although the restaurant was almost empty and we could have clearly finished before the reservation time)
7.1 Good
Pros: Very good breakfast Proximity to the sea, balconies in the rooms
Cons: Service, comfort and design do not correspond the **** star hotel ranking, it feels like a random *** star hotel. Staff at reception not very friendly, staff at breakfast very nice. Rooms with a direct sea view are much nicer than the ones with side views.

Cons: The breakfast was tasty and fresh, but no fish.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet in the room even though it was along the street. Rooms tidy and clean. Slept well in the nice bed. Nice breakfast buffet with enough choices.
Cons: Many channels on the TV, but not a single channel in English. The BBC or CNN with news had been interesting.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was perfect for our weekend away, nice, clean rooms, large bathroom and a delicious breakfast. The receptionist was really friendly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The position and parking is excellent. The room is a good size and the bed comfortable.
Cons: Table in the kitchen was dusty.

Cons: No major complaint. Hotel decorated in traditional style, but still functional.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The kindness of the people and the lovely details...... The excellent breakfast.
Cons: The noise of the main street in front. I thought it was a small street. The lights outside the house. The spots were straight shining into the room.... So we have to close every curtain. Perhaps they can leave only a few during the night.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Slightly far from the beach, but 10-12 minutes walk away. Very clean and well-kept rooms. Extremely friendly and courteous staff - you feel very comfortable as a guest from the first moment in the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Except the room size, all was perfect. Close to the center, quiet and very clean
Cons: the room size for 3 adults ( a bit small but OK for few days ) .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was smart, the staff were friendly and welcoming. On our last day when a taxi couldn't be found, the manager drove us to the station in his car!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Extremely good breakfast. Pool and sauna were great. I found the bed very comfy indeed. All spotlessly clean. Good wifi.
Cons: Some of the photos give an impression of spacious grounds outside which is not the case. Look carefully at the aerial photos! It is a pity that there is no food served in the evenings. There are other very good restaurants less than 10 mins walk away though.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful. Room a little small but perfectly adequate. Great breakfast. Only a ten-minute walk to the pier in Binz, and five minutes to the local train station. Hotel has a lift.

This hotel has facilities measuring 377 square feet (35 square meters), including a meeting room. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
5.8 Okay
Cons: the air conditioning in the rooms are very poor and were unable to deal with the outside heat of close to 30C. We mentioned this to the reception, who admitted the airconditioning is old and should have been replaced long ago. This is supposed to be one of the best hotels in Binz and the price certainly suggests this, but in all honesty this hotel should be stripped of at least 2 of its stars. Having said this, breakfast and dinner are one of the best in town.
7.5 Good
Pros: Room, breakfast, breakfast staff and bartender were excellent.
Cons: We were disappointed our prepaid reservation for two sea view rooms was met with one room overlooking foot high weeds and a line of pyramid skylights and the other overlooking the side street and the Boothous bar and restaurant. They "compensated" this bait and switch, telling us they were " fully booked" with a sitting room and a 10% off price. Very disappointing start to a first visit for two couples to Binz, Rugen.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, breakfast buffet
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect breakfast! Particularly the waffles. My husband loved the fact that he gets to make his own waffles the way he wanted. They’ve got the entire spread available. Definitely a highlight of this trip! Also, we got an upgrade to the beach view rooms. Paid a little extra for this (not for free). But it was worth it. We got a room with a beautiful view of the beach and our bedroom has a window on the roof so we could see the stars at night. It was romantic ❤️
Cons: The parking is like about 5 mins away and the hotel charges 18€ a day which was expensive! Not worth to park at the hotel premises.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, rooms match perfectly the Baltic sea atmosphere (materials, colours) and quite big. Top quality bathrooms, big and super clean.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were super nice, breakfast was superb and location is directly at the beachside.
Cons: Fitness facilities are rather limited so prepare for a run at the beach to get your workout.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, helpful and polite staff, you can order bread rolls fresh each morning, hung on your flat door in a cloth bag. Facilities excellent, although sofa not that comfortable. Not a long walk into town - perhaps 10 minutes - and the delightful Rasender Roland steam railway station is just round the corner, as is the excellent station restaurant.
Cons: The only downside was the parking. If you've in the garages under the flats, there's a strange system where you have to put your car in a sort of cage. This is not easy to do and is a tight squeeze for anything larger than a Polo size car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good (quiet) location - close to the beach, restaurants and all local attractions (castle, natural centre etc.) Very comfortable apartment. Good breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: - nice staff and family friendly

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel at great location!
Cons: Poor vegan options at breakfast.
6.7 Good
Pros: The most important thing was the negative one, i.e. that it was too loud. Everything else was great - but it's useless when you cannot sleep!
Cons: It was unacceptably loud. Live concert literally 3 meters from my window until very late at night, followed by loud guests drinking until almost midnight. From this point of view it was the absolutely worst hotel experience ever.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: service, room, breakfast
Cons: no available parking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really good location in center of the city. short walk to the beach. great service. really good breakfest. sauna in hotel booked just for 2 of us was excelent during the cold and rainy day.
Cons: limited number of parking space. we parked out of the city cca 800 m walking distance.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good, varied choice of food. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The parking. Very tight, especially for a big vehicle.
7.5 Good
Pros: wonderful central location.
Cons: 1. for all 3 days of our stay the housekeeping tidied the room but did not wash the hotel cups and glasses etc 2. our dinner experience was spoiled by the rude waiter Kay Hamau. 3. at no time did the hotel inform us that parking fees are payable 4. we were also surprised that Kurtax was additionally charged. We assumed the booking.com price was final.
