10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely period property, tastefully decorated. Room and bathroom very well appointed. Staff very friendly and helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We LOVED our stay here. The location is absolutely perfect. It's right in the thick of everything but on a quiet street so there was no extra noise. The entire hotel is beautiful and the sunroom where we had breakfast is so nice. The front desk staff was awesome, we truly had the best time! Our room also had a small balcony and every night before dinner, we had a drink on the balcony. It was perfect.
Cons: My partner twisted his ankle right before our trip, so he had limited mobility. It would have been nice to stay in a place with an elevator, but we wouldn't have changed anything about our stay. Even with his ankle, we would have booked the same hotel again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good selection and wonderful dinning area
Cons: Stairs
5.0 Okay
Pros: Hotel had nice common areas
Cons: No Parking! What the hotel calls public parking nearby is actually the street and we could not find a space even to unload the car .the 5 min spot had been occupied by someone who had gone away and left their car. Staff v. Unhelpful and v.surly ended up 20 mins away in parking garage . The towels folded under the sink were dirty. Sink itself not really fit for purpose.
Hotel Du Palais Biarritz - Biarritz
4
9.0 Excellent (828 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A living memory of Biarritz history, theVilla Eugenie, now Hotel du Palais, was built in 1855 by Napoleon III for his wife Eugenie de Montijo, now among the most famous historical resort in France.
6.2 Good
Pros: location and view from dining room
Cons: place is showing its age, and its cost for rooms and meals are far too high. breakfast for 1 person was 50 euro, about $60 USD. the ocean view room i reserved from kayak was $550, and the only view of the water was from a side window; you had to right up next to the window to even see the water or beach. when i complained, they said that since you can see the water from the window, it qualifies as ocean view. we got misled from the check in girl as to when our room would be ready, and got fast double talk as to what happened. there also appears to be some wiggle room between what we learned about the room from kayak and what the hotel provided. kind of a bait and switch. we won't be back.

Pros: Good area; very close to most things
Cons: staff didn't speak ANY english which made asking questions difficult
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal. Great as a starting point for walks in the city and along the coast. Parking was in parking house nearby - at EUR 14 per day - a good alternative to parking in the street (EUR30 per day). The staff was very friendly indeed. A little garden was available for relaxing. The room was comfortable with a little balcony - added at a minor surcharge. The location is fairly quiet and facing a park nearby. We would not hesitate coming back! Finally the Wifi worked just fine.
Cons: We do not have any complaints. We really liked this place. There is not a 24-hour staff on site, but the code to the front door works well.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pool area and garden was really nice. The decor everywhere was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Dinner was not of standard you would expect. Would suggest tea or coffee in sitting room should be available anytime for free since no facilities in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting and staff were excellent. The gardens were beautifully maintained. Perfect secure parking and great service.
Cons: There was no air conditioning. However we were able to open the windows wide and there was a lovely breeze. There was no separate shower it was a handheld shower in the bath!

7.3 Good
Pros: The whole experience was wonderful - from the look of the manor, to the staff, to the owner chauffering us in his Rolls to our dinner reservation. The staff is extremely attentive, without being intrusive. The room was luxurious, but comfortable. A very special place.
Cons: Price per person for breakfast seems high.
7.2 Good
Pros: Very nice romantic place but not for the long stay
Cons: It would be so nice if they made the territory much more!
7.6 Good
Pros: Super friendly staff. Beautiful and very stylish hotel.
7.6 Good
Pros: Gorgeous room, fab bath and shower, absolutely charming staff, stylish hotel.. Great touches like a huge bowl of gorgeous fresh fruit in reception, and breakfast was great - lovely table, prompt service and delicious.
Cons: But don't order dinner there - at least not on a Sunday night. Our dinner experience was not good. Firstly we waited ages and ages. The choice was limited but that was OK, except the food wasn't ok. It was strange bordering on bizarre and really not very nice. We ordered some cold starters (amongst which was a serving of 'green' asparagus which came limp, soggy and almost brown in colour - obviously tinned and frankly inedible) and one hot starter. All the cold starters were served together - there were 6 of us - but the one hot starter only came ages later with all the main courses. The mains were local dishes and really not very nice, weren't hot enough and certainly not up to standard. Shame as hotel otherwise is gorgeous.
8.0 Excellent

Cons: No bad points
6.8 Good

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and the staff was both friendly and helpful. We arrived on the hottest day in middle of summer and they provided us with both cold water bottles and wet towel
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a great location: very close to the ocean, and a very comfortable bed on the quiet side of the town.
Cons: Not sure there is anything I did not like. We did not take any breakfast, as I found it a bit pricey.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located right at the heart of Biarritz, location is excellent. Room was very clean, quiet, there is an elevator and the staff are very friendly. We did not try the breakfast offered at the hotel.
Cons: There was no AC in the room - maybe something that can be added for the comfort of the guests. Also, there was no particular view out of the window. Parking is a bit difficult/expensive to find near the hotel during the day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel location is very good, there are a lot of restaurants and bars near, also the road to beach is around five minunes. Staff of hotel is very helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful Breakfast was also very good. Would recommend and would stay there again.
Cons: The room was noisy of a morning as it was near to reception and everyone coming and going were loud. Even staff. Impossible to sleep in.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and rooms are nice. Located in the heart of Biarritz.
Cons: The reception is only open until 19.00 every day. We had a later arrival, at 19.20 nobody was there. After a call they tried to open the door via Smartphone, didn't work. By random another guest came by and opened the door. Inside or card was available at desktop. Card payment wasn't possible, had to pay cash. Parking spot is in the public area and difficult to find, with luck we got one. Not a good Hotelif you come with your own car.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location excellent for nightlife but noisy if that's a problem for you.
Cons: Bedroom was tiny but small balcony helped. Bathroom was even tinier with barely room to turn around
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a complete Gem, very close to the beach and right on Port Vieux for an easy walk along the town. The attention was really nice, the room was excellent and quiet , very calm , I had a very good sleeps
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location could not be better as the hotel is surrounded by small restaurants and shops and the beach is close bye. Breakfast was basic but fine and eaten outside in a very pleasant small courtyard. Annie was extremely helpful and the owner (?) as well. The hotel is small, but has a lift which is great for suitcases, and is very 'minimalist smart' in its white and blue colour scheme.
Cons: We had a twin bedded room and the bathroom was adequate but very small.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was brilliant; near loads of bars, restaurants, shops and 2 mins walk to a lovely swimming beach. Our room was spotless and the staff very helpful.
Cons: It was a bit noisy at night even though we had a room at the back.Breakfast was basic; Some fruit or yoghurt or cheese/ham would improve it.

Cons: No Parking
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Complimentary Breakfast at 7 am was wonderful. Staff wonderful. Upper floor facing ocean wonderful.
Cons: Some rooms did not have wifi access. Some rooms were small.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous hotel and lovely staff. Room had everything needed and was sparkling clean. Bed was 2 x 4 foots so plenty of room and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast with huge choice.
Cons: The noise! Unfortunately we had a room at the back on the lower ground floor. There was a huge amount of noise from inconsiderate individuals around 4.00 a.m. screaming and shouting. Unfortunately this spoilt our stay. Not the hotels fault at all but apparently the town gets busySaturday nights. Perhaps ask for a room off the ground floor and not at the back.
7.5 Good
Pros: Super close to the beach, breakfast was great, staff spoke great English and were helpful
Cons: Noise proofing in room was not good. Could hear guests/staff walking through hallways in the mornings.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location is good Nice reception ladies
Cons: Many negative points and I don’t know how could they be a 4 Star Hotel!!!! - one very old building with one small elevator ( for two) very slow; really nerving waiting for it to come - very small rooms - they don’t change the bed sheets - the shampoo was almost empty right from the beginning; not good room service - Bad breakfast; very low selection of cooked food. It is like a two star hotel breakfast- dishes & Glases are not really clean and you need to really look for a clean one; only good and fresh juice -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely clean and spacious room - we were on the top floor with large windows facing the beach -Everything was sparkly clean! Absolutely BRILLIANT staff- very kind and helpful. Breakfast was really good and varied. Fresh orange juice not made from concentrate ! excellent bread and viennoiseries. Hotel is ideally placed if you want to spend a day walking/ shopping in Btz. Very easy check in and check out
Cons: Parking in Btz can be a bit difficult but staff helped a lot for that. Would be great if breakfast room had a see view!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: View in our ocean front room was spectacular. Breakfast, staff, cleanliness, location were perfect.
Cons: Our room was small, but it was the bed which was far too small for two people. Towels fell rough.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent staff
Cons: Small bedroom and tiny bathroom. Uncomfortable mattress.

Pros: Location great - very central but quiet. A lovely large room overlooking the garden. Nice bathroom. Lots of fantastic restaurants and wonderful shopping within walking distance. A warm welcome.
Cons: It's rather expensive - but probably worth it!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely friendly staff. Beautiful quiet garden where we could eat breakfast. Had an amazing lunch served outside on the terrace at a very reasonable price. Hotel well placed opposite the market and surrounded by restaurants and cafes.
Cons: The weather!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent stay and would highly recommend to friends...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: In the heart of everything, yet so quiet! The room was beautifully decorated, clean, and had AC. It was a lovely respite from busy day’s hiking, swimming, and jostling crowds. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Parking was available onsite, which was huge for this busy town!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: If you're wanting to enjoy the food and drink of the city this is ideally placed right opposite the food market. Pretty spot with nice design and good parking. Very friendly staff.
Cons: Pricey, even for a standard room, and no menu for drinks which proved to be extortionate! Still, Biarritz is an elegant coastal resort so I guess you get what you pay for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Thank you very much for all and good luck!
Cons: Standard room was with only one window, looking nowhere
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location. Opposite the market, close to restaurants and near the beaches
Cons: No view outside.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Ground floor apartment and friendly staff
Cons: Bill paying was a mix up on reception
7.5 Good
Cons: Noise from street early in the morning
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Position and comfy bed.
Cons: Being offered an upgrade from what I thought was a good room to a better room (without seeing the difference) and then charged 30 euros which we felt enticed to take as was told much bigger and quieter (rear of building) and not on the ground floor. And had a view (tiny view of sea between buildings). The room looked pretty standard to me. 3 star not 4. Felt we were taken advantage of on arrival for extra 30 euros.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good service considering the G7 summit was on. Friendly staff and good location.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very central and easily accessed by the number 8 from the train station. Good level of security on entrance to property. Near to market which was excellent for small cafes at the start of the day and a night cap at the end.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly, efficient and very obliging.
Cons: The room was smaller than expected. The design of the handbasin was odd and I could have done with a grip-rail in the shower. Breakfast didn't suit us as there was an emphasis on cakes.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all very nice and happy to speak to us in English. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was an easy walk to the conference center and beach, and there is a bus station about 1 minute walk away where you can catch a direct bus to the train station.
Cons: The shower & sink room did not have a door on it, so if you are travelling with someone, be prepared that they will see you getting into and out of the shower and will have lights shining in their eyes if they are laying in bed. We did our best to hang towels across the doorway but would have preferred an actual door!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean and staff was really friendly!
Cons: It was all good!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location and a very reasonable price . The staff were friendly and helpful. It’s situated on a quiet side street so it’s very peaceful. Overall we were satisfied with our stay!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, quiet and pitoresque, in downtown Biarritz walking distance from the main beach and parking lots. Charming facility, excellent cleanliness and tastefully-furnished rooms. Beauty kit available including fluffy bathrobe and slippers. Tasty breakfast with lots of handmade cackes, although savory food is inadequate.
Cons: Although it's a 4-star hotel, the reception is open until 22h only. The breakfast is excellent but expensive if considered that most of the savory food (i.e. omelette and bacon) is extra. Rooms' furnishings is minimal, and if you are not a light traveller, you may not know where to place your belongings orderly.
7.1 Good
Pros: Effective air conditioning. Comfortable bed. Friendly and attentative staff
Cons: The room was very small, and the bathroom cramped. Breakfast wasn't included in our deal, and we decided to skip it altogether since it mainly consisted of sweet stuff. The door to the guest toilet in the reception area was broken and people were either locked in or could not lock.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location and friendly staff.
Cons: Not a fan of bathrooms with no shower doors/curtains.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Management were fantastic. Very helpful and accommodating. Location was excellent as was breakfast.
Cons: Air conditioning would have been good but other than that it was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room and very French. So many places have been “modernized” and the character of the rooms gone. This place is quaint and still has everything you need. The staff were delightful and helpful. Great location, everything in walking distance.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is great and the staff are friendly.
Cons: There could be a smaller fridge in the room to allow cold water.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpul staff. We were able to leave our luggage after checking out to be able to have a last walk in the city before going to the aiport. The location is perfect, it's easy and quick to walk to the center and the sea side. I am a light sleeper and have back problems but I slept very well. The room was quiet, no noise from the other guests or from outside (even with the window open it was fine) and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: It's being a bit fussy but the bed sheets were a bit old and really not soft, it felt like paper.
6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast was OK. Likes the property generally and they were friendly.
Cons: No air conditioning and the road was noisy so couldn't sleep well. Could have done with a bar area
9.6 Excellent

7.5 Good
Pros: Our visit was just before G7 so this had an effect on it. Location is fantastic - superb views. Room was high specification but small considering the price we paid.
Cons: When arriving we were told how much breakfast was so we thought we hadn't booked it, although we had - however this was well dealt with by reception with a refund when we checked out.

Pros: Location and view
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is small and compact in an excellent location for views and town access. The rooms are stylish and comfortable.
Cons: The central location proved a problem as it was very noisy and the noise began very early in the morning- around 6.30am with shop and restaurant deliveries. An exceptional issue also affected us - the removal of items relating to the G7. This compromised the pleasure of our stay considerably.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff. Super room with great balcony and superb view.

Pros: Staff very helpful and great position for everything. Free beach towels and beach umbrella was a nice touch. Black out blinds were good.
Cons: Maybe an English channel on the TV would be nice, but you are on holiday so not a problem. Also shower a bit dated but it all works.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptional especially Sandrine who could not be more helpful she was marvellous and an asset to the hotel -she organised anything we needed including beach towels and umbrella. The hotel was centrally located and the room was large and spotless. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here
Cons: Nil issues arose
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great value and really helpful staff
Cons: The standard double room is quite small which was fine for one person but would be pretty tight with a couple. My friend was in a classic double and if you are a couple travelling together I suggest reserving a classic double room. Having said that it was great value.

Overview Reviews
The majestic 5-star Regina Biarritz Hotel & Spa by MGallery Collection overlooks the bay of Biarritz. Inspired by French Art Deco and Haute Couture, with elegant rooms and suites overlooking the ocean or golf course, a restaurant with terrace overlooking the lighthouse, and a lounge bar with a vast patio housed under a glass roof inspired by the Eiffel Tower. The spa and outdoor pool add to the overall sense of well-being and relaxation. Valet service and free car park
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed at Le Regina three times now and so, obviously, we really like the hotel. The rooms, which are admittedly expensive, are beautifully appointed, with huge comfy beds (and the all-important air-conditioning), and are fastidiously maintained by the housekeeping staff throughout the stay. The hotel is a picturesque ten minute walk from the town... which suits us as it means there is an "air of calm" at Le Regina which contrasts with the hustle & bustle of the centre. The pool area is extremely relaxing with plenty of sun-loungers - we have never experienced any difficulty securing a couple whenever we have turned-up. Finally, there is ample private car-parking at the hotel.
Cons: The hotel quite rightly describes its beautiful, period atrium (their "patio under a glass roof") as the jewel of their crown. Unfortunately, it is always empty... which is such a shame. We wonder whether this may be a result of the bar drinks being so very expensive (€7 for a cola; €16 for a cocktail)? The price, and the lack of atmosphere in the room resulting from the lack of guests using this particular facility, certainly served to prevent us from using the facility... again, such a shame as we would have loved to spend our evenings enjoying the surroundings.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The property was very special, spacious, clean and comfortable.
Cons: Other than the front desk, the staff were uninterested, uninvolved in helping or waiting on anyone. Perhaps it was the end of the season. Breakfast was minimal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Free big parking, wifi
Cons: Breakfasts could be much better!
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Beautiful, scenic location. Helpful & friendly staff. Hotel lobby, bar & restaurant very nice.
Cons: After a week of traveling In Bordeaux region, we were hoping to get laundry done while we stayed at the Le Régina for 4 nights to explore Basque region. They did offer laundry service but price was prohibitive. 19-20E per piece for a T-shirt/underwear?? Cheaper to buy new....
9.6 Excellent
Cons: The difference of daily room rate when I added 2 extra days at the front and end of stay
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good sea view, efficient staff and hotel decor. Good private parking facilities
Cons: Minor item... The wardrobe space was limited, particularly for longer items of clothing.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: We did not use the restaurant nor the swimmingpool, so cannot give comments on them.
Cons: Restaurant lunch/dinner prices were not given on the list in the reception.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff. Great pool. Good value
Cons: Very loud due to motorcycles driving but all night.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The view was spectacular, the room was clean and very nice upon check-in. However, during a 4 day stay, housekeeping did not come in to clean/tidy the room even one time! Breakfast was decent and provided a variety of options. I especially loved the juicer for fresh squeezed orange juice!
Cons: There was no top sheet on the bed, only the bottom sheet and a comforter. Housekeeping did not come into my room one single time during a 4 night stay, even though I requested it and put the sign on the door to "please make up room". The room was pleasant and had a full kitchenette (fridge, microwave, sink, coffee maker). However, there was not a single utensil, plate or cup. It would have been a nice touch to have coffee and creamer/sugar packets available, along with a cup, for morning or afternoon. It seemed like there was an additional charge for every little thing.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great affordable price in heart of Biarritz Great views
Cons: No cups etc to use kitchen facilities in room
7.9 Good
Pros: I love the area and the hotel style . The view is amazing from there as a postcard!❤️

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, couldn’t be better. Very nice rooms with views to the ocean.
Cons: Breakfast is too expensive for what they were offering. It’s better to have breakfast outside.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The central location. The staff were great. I enjoyed the pool and restaurant/bar.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was bright and spacious with a lovely view from the balcony. Good parking facilities....important in Biarritz....with an easy walk to shops and the sea. We didn't use the pool because of the weather or the restaurant as the room had a small kitchen and it was lovely eating on the balcony.
Cons: Some of the furniture was a little bit scruffy and a double bed would have been nice but not worth changing for the few days we were there.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, good value!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lots of authentic shop's and restaurants near by. The staff were very friendly and helpful, making arrangements for taxis and sorting transport problem!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We had trouble finding the hotel (partly due to the one-way systems in Biarritz) but once there we were very pleased with the location - just a short walk down to the sea front and town centre. Breakfast - a good selection and the scrambled egg was excellent (something we always judge by). Staff were friendly and helpful. My husband is handicapped and the receptionist was most helpful finding a room with a shower he could use easily. We arrived late and the receptionist also recommended a restaurant nearby where we could get a meal.
Cons: The bed was right against the wall which meant I had to climb up into the bed from the bottom, which wasn't easy. There wasn't much room to put anything (but there rarely is in these places).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotels position was excellent. It enabled us to be. by the beach or in town easily and conveniently.
Cons: Happy with it all
7.1 Good
Pros: Comfortable beds and great shower
Cons: WiFi was weak. Socket in bathroom didn’t work, lack of facilities in bedroom and kept awake from constant banging of doors.
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff and the location are EXCELLENT, very close to the beach and the restaurants. You choose the hotel on for the location , nothing rlse
Cons: Rooms are very low quality as for the price you pay. The housekeeping is making TOO much noise , they start cleaning at 8:30am and never care about the noise they make, the isolation inthe rooms are very very bad, the pipe system makes a lot of noise. Next to your bed there are no sockets to put any plugs, no way to charge your phone while you are in the bed
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good rooms not far from beach , good breakfast
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast. Parking on site.
Cons: Separate toilet from bathroom.

7.9 Good
Pros: The location was perfect
Cons: The room was poor for a junior suite. The bed was comfortable, the TV was very high up and small for the size of the room. We expected some comfortable seating for a suite but it was like a chaise longue against a wall and under the TV.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Splendid location
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location,
Cons: Superficially redecorated. Fittings old/ shabby, Balcony dirty. Communal areas grubby.

Cons: nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location, didnt have breakfast there
Cons: Room very small, kept bumping ogainst the wall
7.0 Good
Pros: The location was amazing. It was right in the centre of a busy square with lots of great restaurants. Our balcony room was overlooking the sea which was amazing. There was a really nice church right beside us and lots of shops. It was a small walk away from the surfing beach we went to also which was great!
Cons: The room was nothing like the room shown in the images. It was still lovely and clean and the bed was very comfy. It was just a third of the size of the room shown in images.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location is great. The staff is very helpful and seems happy to be there. The entrance/reception area looks very good.
Cons: The corridors are very narrow, old and smelly (old carpet). The furniture of the apartment is less comfortable than Ikea. The only 4 star item was the bathroom (big, new and pretty). The view from the apartment was on a back entrance and when the windows were open, it smelled like fries. You can hear everything that is happening in adjacent rooms. This hotel definitely does not meet 4 star standards (or even 3 star sandards).
4.2 Okay
Pros: It’s location was the only positive thing
Cons: The fact that the bar and restaurant were both closed, if we had know this we would not have booked here, there was no explanation from staff!! We could have book an apartment for half the money we spent on this hotel!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet location with an absolutely superb restaurant.”
Cons: Nothing
