Historical, charming, well located. Good breakfast and pleasant service.
We were on top floor. It was quite hot. No elevator. It was difficult to get bags up and down the stairs. No bell service.

The evening meal was very expensive and although it was O.k it did not warrant the price No lift this should be pointed out at time of booking, for the elderly it is impossible to get to rooms on the third floor

Sophie at reception was welcoming and personable.
During our stay, the bar was unavailable due to private parties. This was disappointing as the bar with its large fireplace and frames photos of past celebrities lends this public area considerable charm and ambiance. Also, the breakfast buffet was really just a continenetal breakfast. The egg boiler did not work. The menu in general needs updating.
