Pros (+) Decor and room were beautiful.
Cons (-) There was street construction all night, starting at midnight until the next morning when. We checked out. We called for earplugs but the hotel didn’t offer. We barely slept and when I spoke to the manager he had nothing to offer further than an apology for our disturbance. The restaurant has a good view. The food was just ok.

Cons (-) Hotel is old and well-worn - in desperate need of a rehab. Despite the Joie de Vivre name, the desk clerk on our arrival was decidedly not happy. We booked a two-bed room and got a king with a too-short foldaway cot, and on one of the coldest days of the year they did not have any spare blankets, so we were given three sheets instead. Pros (+) This hotel has a great location and friendly staff. It has a nice, old-fashioned feel which gives it a romantic quality for the price. The decor and furniture are attractive and classic, albeit a bit shabby when examined closely. Pros (+) The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was beautiful and had amenities like a towel warmer and an overhead heat lamp. The hotel was in a great location in the heart of Mt Vernon - I could see the Washington Monument from my window. Housekeeping was very accommodating to our schedule and left the room pristine.
Cons (-) To preface this review, I stayed at the Wyndham for a total of 6 nights. The WIFI worked about half the time, which was detrimental because I was in Baltimore to take intensive courses at JHU and couldn't do my homework in the room. Pros (+) Bar is great with wonderful happy hour foods Quiet, nice king bed on 12th floor Uber taxi to Johns Hopkins for $5 Excellent location Great rate thru Kayak Park for $12 a day a block or two away.
