Best thing about the hotel was the staff. They made the stay at this average hotel pleasurable. They were very courteous, professional, and accommodating. Additionally, the indoor spa and pool area was pretty nice.
This will be a long list. This "5 Star Hotel" has several issues. First, there is one set of elevators running down the center spine of the building. There are no additional elevators in the corner wings. We had to drag our luggage like a mile to our room. Next, the wifi in the room didnt work, as the signal was too weak. We called the front desk and they immediately dispatched the IT guy. He was able to boost the signal on the access point and afterwards, we were good to go. Kudos for the staff and the IT guy for handling this situation so quickly. Coffee in the room cost 3 euro (what?) And they are very shady about the "complementary" water. Every hotel I ever stay in usually provides one bottle a day but this hotel only offers it to rewards members. If guests aren't careful enough to read the little card with the fine print, they will be suckered into paying for this water. Additionally? The mini bar prices are outrageous. $7 for coke? $9 for a Heineken? Give me a break.
Excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely choose this Hotel again for our next stay in Athens.
