Staff were very helpful and friendly. They even had a parking space reserved in anticipation of our arrival. Plenty of visual and multi-language guides for how to use onsen, wear yukata, and lay out your futon (my favourite was Kumamon showing how to use the onsen). Some good restaurants and bars within 10-15 minutes walking distance. Decor was nice. Onsen was good.
In order to shower you must go to the onsen. It felt a bit pricey, but the price occupies a nice middle ground in the Aso area somewhere between a hostel (cheap) and a high end hotel or high end ryokan (insanely expensive). Parents complained about the futons being thin, I didn’t notice to be honest, I slept like a babby.
Cheap ryokan and a good choice to visit Aso. Typical rooms and you can come back all night. Mainly young people there.
With a stay at Tabinoyado Asonoyu in Aso, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Hanaasobi Garden and Aso Kuju National Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
