Campanile Arles

The manager was very helpful, and even drove us to the station when no taxi showed up!

The property is very overpriced for what it offers. It is outside of Arles, in an industrial area with poor bus transportation. My room was stuffy and smelling of smoke. Tons of mosquitoes. the room was not particularly clean and the bin in the bathroom was broken and was not replaced. Air drier did not function properly either.

Very expensive for what it was. At least half as much again as other cheaper hotels I stayed in with better facilities than this one. It is situated out of town in the middle of an industrial complex. Taxis to the centre cost 10 euros, which added to the cost of the hotel, though there is a bus 10 mins walk from the hotel. Room was OK - standard really, but nothing special. I didn't like the motel style, a concrete block set apart from the reception like a motel, and two flights up outside concrete steps to the chalet type room - appalling if you were disabled - no lift, had to hike our suitcases up the steps. Only one teabag or coffee portion per person in the room by the kettle, which seemed mean.

Situation and friendly looking hotel.

There was no welcoming by the receptionist on arrival and he did not speak English. Provided with the key it was difficult to open the door to the room and I had to get assistance from the receptionist. The lighting did not work on entry into the room so he had to switch a lamp from one light to the other which meant there was no reading lamp on the side of the bed. I had also asked for a non-smoking room but could smell that someone had been smoking in the room. On the whole the staff did not speak English which I believe in a "tourist" area is very important.

It was a pleasant hotel, fine room. Clean, comfortable, nothing special.

Location was a bit far from the center, and bus service is very infrequent.
