very good breakfast, family friendly, perfect location, friendly staff
The hotel grounds were very nice and it had beautiful view of the Red Sea. My daughters enjoyed seeing all of the interesting fish off of the pier. There was a little Christmas market while we were there and we had henna tattooing done which we all liked.
The hotel was understaffed. Everything just took forever. Getting the bill after meals took over 1/2 an hour and service during the buffet meals was very slow with plates not being cleared and drink orders not being taken. Given the poor service, it was very annoying to be charged a mandatory 10% service fee. Also, meals and drinks were very expensive for what they were. Lemonade was the equivalent of 7$ and a burger was over 20$. Our rooms were not cleaned until I had complained several times and when we asked for more bottled water (tap water in Jordan is not safe to drink) it either took a long time to arrive or not at all. The most disturbing incident was someone defecated in the hallway leading to our room. There was poop everywhere and was not properly cleaned up, causing us to have to side step poop smears for the remainder of our stay. Not good value for the money.
Very nice resort. Beautiful ocean and views. Extremely clean with very beautiful water features and pools. We enjoyed the location but know that it is out of town maybe 10KM from Aqaba. However, they offer a free shuttle to the other Movenpick downtown. The spa was excellent as is the Italian restaurant. Great place to relax for a few days after the adventure of Petra.
The breakfast buffet was the worst in Jordan and not as good as the Movenpick Petra. We paid to upgrade to a Seaview room but the views are limited due to the fact that the resort is only 3 stories, foliage, slides, etc. I would agree with other comments that for Americans and some Europeans this resort becomes quite expensive with the exchange rate. For example, the cocktails are 10-12JOD which is $14-$16 USD per drink. Just plan to splurge a little bit when you are at this resort, but we thought it was worth it
Great service. We were at low season and they were able to accommodate an early check in and slightly late check out for no extra charge. Good (but not exceptional) breakfast and dinner buffet, which was included in our price. Good service at the bar and nice touch to have the chocolate hour each day. Facilities are superb although only the winter pool was heated and it is 1.6m deep so the kids had to stay by the side when they wanted to catch their breath. The other pools and water slide were very cold, but the kids still managed to use them briefly. Beach is nice and there is a football pitch and volleyball court. I think this would be an excellent place to come for a family holiday in high season. It was quiet when we visited in January.
Reception gave out an incorrect events programme. Animation team were bubbly but we didn’t know what was on when. I expect that was a symptom of it being low season
Excellent, I’ve never had so much choice
