One restroom for 14 people Is scandalous There is not any Locker and this Is essential And the room Is too small And the restroom was Always dirty
I chose precisely because of the location and I do not regret it despite having had a hard time on the last day of my stay. I will speak specifically about the room I stayed in: number 10, 3rd floor. Despite many beds, the room is really spacious and the beds are even comfortable, the bathroom inside the room is equally spacious and was clean. I didn't have any problems with noise or other people, because it was just me and another guy. So, I imagine if there were more people in the room the experience could be different. Doesn't say on the reservation, but they serve a shy breakfast: just bread, jams and chocolate cream, coffee and tea, but you can reinforce with your stuff. There is no point in complaining about the stairs, it is a historic building in a historic area, you need common sense and understand, if you have large and heavy suitcases just look for a hotel with an elevator or fewer floors.
Be careful with small rats. I took food to the room, and I didn't see any warning before saying I couldn't, I would never imagine waking up with a little mouse in my bed. Okay, it was my fault to bring food, especially because I slept really well on the two nights I was there. I think they could try some way to disinfect the place anyway.
Amazing location, free breakfast, relatively cheap - not at all a luxury stay but you get what you pay for given the location.
Sheets weren't the cleanest, no lockers to store stuff, rooms were super busy and the staff couldn't accommodate my request to be placed in the same room as our mates despite saying it would be fine via email.
The staff were friendly and the location was good, central. The area the hostel in is lively.
The bathroom was so dirty, we felt like we needed a shower following a shower there. I had to clean the sink area before putting my stuff down and the floor was just covered in hairs etc. The noise levels off the street was unreal, the hostel is located right next to a night club and the hustle and bustle of the street keep going until about 3am. This isn’t the hostels fault however they could have better windows to try and block out sounds. When we booked in they attempted to charge us additional charges that differed to booking.com and when we showed this they were ok with it however tried charging us again on check out. All these could have been ignored had we not payed over £500 for our stay. Also anyone staying here they only accept cash on check in. The communal area of the hostel isn’t the best, you are unable to relax like you would in other hostels, there are a bunch of rules.
When I’m traveling alone - always stay there. Cheap, in the center of city and quite good quality! Compare with some others hostels
