Staff very welcoming
Shower needed updating , retiling
The location was superb, clean towels were supplied each day and the breakfast was very good. The waiting staff at breakfast were very helpful and worked hard. Hot drinks and toast were prompt and tables cleared quickly.
I booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 children. On arrival we found this to be at the top of building in the roof space. My husband is over 6 foot and as a result his head suffered greatly due to the very low ceilings and roof beams. no warning had been given about this. The beds were the worst beds I’ve ever had the misfortune of sleeping on. The sleeping arrangements consisted of; a main bed being 2 singles of differing heights pushed together, one of these had a broken divan base and springs protruding from the mattress, a single bed (with a broken foot) and a rock hard futon (put-you-up bed) Due to the futon being so hard and uncomfortable my 14 and 12year old shared the one single bed. I would have expected a hotel advertising a family room to have adequate beds for a family, sadly our room resembled an unused spare room. There were no hooks to hang our wet towels or any way of drying them. The shower room had a sink with a plug that didn’t fit and we couldn’t use. The tea and coffee supplies weren’t restocked with enough for the occupants of the room and dirty cups were left after housekeeping had been in. The member of staff on the reception during our stay was not the most welcoming person and when I queried something was met with “well that’s how it is” The car park is a tiny courtyard which has adequate spaces for 5 or 6 cars at a push and operates on a first come first serve basis. I would not return to this hotel or recommend it to friends.
Location, breakfast, staff
Needed a good makeover! Very dated!
Old and smelly hotel. Breakfast was poor.
