Aarhus hotels near ARoS

Pros: The breakfast was excellent and I enjoyed that it was served and not a buffet, which I presume is done to save on waste but also ensures freshness. I also liked and enjoyed the lounge area with the drinks tables, I thought this was very nicely done. The bed linens were also of excellent quality!

Cons: I found our room VERY small, certainly compared to the VERY large price we paid and also because we were on the top floor the room was very hot.

Pros: Just a great place to stay. Lovely place to escape but at the same time a few steps only away from the life in the city, any culturural events and restaurants/bars and a few bus stations from the beaches. A great place with great atmosphere created with passion and a flair pour la France. Delicious breakfast.

Pros: This place is just gorgeous, really quirky, interesting and very pretty, the staff are exceptionally kind and welcoming, the beds are super comfy, the breakfast is to die for and the location just can't be faulted.

Cons: No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, but that's standard for Denmark....and the shower a bit too small in this particular room but I understand that is not the case in most of the rooms....

Pros: Excellent location, 5 minute walk from the canal with restaurants and shops. Liked the decor, old movie posters. Old building but renovated.

Pros: Very friendly staff, classic furniture, and excellent breakfast service.

Pros: Location is very central and there is parking available inside the hotel for an extra fee. Breakfast is very good but not superb as described - variety is quite limited. The staff is friendly and attentive.

Cons: We booked a standard room and were changed to a superior room at higher price since we had a 6 months baby with us. On top of that we had to pay an extra fee for the baby to stay with us in that room, even though this information was not available when booking. We stayed in a ground level floor and could hear people walking and showering in the above ones.

Pros: Breakfast was amazing! The location is extremely central, right near the shopping district as well. The overall feel of the hotel was lovely, and I really enjoyed the decor.

Cons: Unfortunately is was a little warm the day that I stayed and so I felt a little hot in my room, however I was able to open the windows and let some breeze in.

Cons: Skip the breakfast. A Poor quality of food that is not worth the money.

Pros: We booked the junior suite, and found it very nice and comfortable, and too expensive. The cocktails in the minibar were delicious. The room was clean and aesthetically designed with golden handles and old paintings on the wall.

Cons: The aircondition did not work and it was terribly hot during the day. A balcony would have been a great plus.

Cons: Aircondition did not cool the room down. The pillows were cheap. The bed was hard. No room cleaning.

Pros: Great location, stylish interior design and nice staff. Parking possible just outside the hotel. Not the last time we have stayed here. And the breakfast was great.

Pros: -The hotel is really central, you can walk to the important sightseeing -The staff are nice und willing to help

Cons: -There are no parking places for the car, the only place is a public one, which is dangerous for a car to be lifted for 4 days, someone should drive about 5-10 minutes away to park in a closed public parking, which it is expensive. -The air conditioner was broken, it was weak in the first 2 days then it didn’t give any cold air at the last 2 days. -The chair seat was also broken, the leather cover was up at the corner. -The toilet broke at the last 2 days and I had to push the water more than 2 times sometimes to stop the running water. -There was no light on the ceiling in the room, only lamps at the bed, it was always dark.

Pros: We’ve visited this hotel a lot and it’s generally great. Good location, big room, bathtub (in Aarhus this just doesn’t happen), nice staff and the Wi-fi is usually spot on. Breakfast usually great. We inadvertently checked out an hour later than permitted.

Cons: Things have changed at this hotel. Wi-fi was non-existent. The drain in the toilet stank. The toilet seat was falling off. The aircon didn’t work. The breakfast was not as good as previously and now some 30-40% more expensive. The security at reception was dubious (‘just pick up your own key from the board if no-one’s there!?’)

Pros: The location was great and so was the style of the hotel. Friendly staff.

Cons: The room was a bit too simple - the bathroom even more simple - when showering the water was everywhere, leaving the floor soaked! No place to put your bathroom-things, so overall seemed like the person responsible for decoration of the room had forgotten to actually stay in the room. We didn't try the breakfast as we thought this was too expensive and would rather go to a local cafe for less the price.

Pros: The location of the Guldsmeden could not be beaten for access to all the sights of the city. It is a charming hotel with sustainability and care for the environment very high on its agenda. The staff were extremely helpful and, of course, spoke perfect English! There is a pretty garden at the back but the weather was not brilliant during our stay so we didn't have the chance to sit out there. We very much enjoyed having coffee, tea and biscuits available to us in the reception cafe area at all times. We also had a lovely comfy four-poster bed!

Cons: Our room was at the front, facing the street, and our sleep was disturbed by traffic noise. We were only there for 2 nights, had we been staying longer we would probably have asked to move.

Pros: It’s location! Having snacks & drinks available & a garden area.

Cons: Room was really small, noisy as it faced the street, wasn’t told about bikes being available to rent, whether the wine in the room was complimentary or not, some staff not that helpful in giving advice or suggestions in the local area. Bathrooms are quite dated & hair dryers need to be updated to normal size not travel size.

Pros: Good location in Latin quarter, only 20 mins walk from ArOS gallery. Spacious room (described as small double). Well equipped luxury style shared bathroom

Cons: Garden area was very scruffy and decking slippery in the rain. The outer door to the annex corridor was very noisy - slammed every time someone went through it. Could be fixed if door closure mechanism adjusted. Also (not the hotel's fault but) the seagulls were really noisy - woke us at 4am.

Pros: We loved the hotel, the breakfast was delicious and the staff went out of their way to help and give advice about the area and the various cycling options . The green ethos and the towels, bath robes and organic products also particularly appealed to us.

Cons: Overall fantastic but a couple of small points we felt could improve the stay . The shower room could have been improved with a longer shower curtain to avoid flooding the floor and a hook on the shower room door would have helped keep clothes off the floor.

Pros: Excellent location for visiting Old Aarhus. Room small but nice 4 poster bed as opposed to fashionable minimalist scandinavian modern. Good breakfast and very helpful staff.

Cons: Small, impractical bathroom. Sink was small and very cramped to get to. Not enough shelfs to have the toiletries. The whole floor got wet when showering. One of the worst bathrooms I ever experienced at a hotel. Lots of street noise with open windows since it was very hot, no AC and hard to get a restful sleep.

Pros: Wakeup is bright and clean in the room as always. Just enough space to stay and sleep and still feel quite comfortable. Centrally located just next to central station. It’s just as it should be when you spend time primarily on site seeing. Good breakfast.

Pros: The place is close to everything, walking distance to all the areas around the City. Very quite and peaceful. Also liked their gym, small but one can still do a lot of exercises.

Cons: On checkout I was told of a tab of over 500 bucks from the bar but I had never set a foot there. But they were going to sort it out themselves.

Pros: Great host, very communicative. The apartment bright and clean. Truly recommended!

Pros: Fortunately they had a junior suite opening for the last night of our stay for a modest upgrade fee. That room is much much better and if you're gonna stay here I would totally recommend this room. The view and amenities in this room are so much better. Also contrary to what the initial check in receptionist said this room does have a single queen bed. All other rooms only have the option of two twin beds which drove us mad. The breakfast is decent. Could be better but not bad. The bar looked good but didn't try it. The location of this hotel is really good if you're coming to see Aarhus. Close to the sights and shopping, restaurants etc.

Cons: The initial experience was not at all good. We got the family room thinking it would be optimal and also the suites were not available when we booked. However, I would not recommend this room at all. It is reasonably spacious by European hotel standards but quite quite worn out. The bathroom was also old and worn out. The pot had some broken porcelain which made it look quite gross. The AC is pretty much non existent. With a warm summer this year, it was very unpleasant and we did not sleep for a couple of nights. When I asked the receptionist, she gave some story about how the card had to be in the slot and it would then take 1.5 hours to cool etc. Nothing happened. We got the family room thinking there would be a fridge. Nothing. Had to get ice from the bar to keep the milk cold for our infant. So really NOT a family room. There were a few instances when I tried calling reception but no one would pick up. So I had to go down to talk to them. OnceI was told it was busy. Another time there were like 4-5 people milling about behind the reception.

Pros: Super friendly and helpful hotel staff, great breakfast buffet, perfect location to explore the city by walking

Pros: Nice simple hotel in a very good location, close to the downtown, at the sea. Highly recommended if you want good value for money. Small rooms however a reasonable comfort. Parking with large cars requires some driving skills.

Pros: Great, stylish but by Danish standards cheaper hotel. Nice decor, access to balcony and excellent breakfast served on the 10th floor with great views.

Cons: The rooms have full length windows which are great, but as it was summer the room got very hot during the day.

Pros: Hotel is in the center of Aarhus with a view on the port. Most sites in town is within walking distance.
