Location is top!
Our room was situated towards the mainstreet, the windows weren't exactly soundproofed, so it got sometimes really noisy at night.
The hotel is located very close to the city center, and right next to the shopping street Adalbertstrasse. The staff is nice and polite. Rooms were spotless. I liked the fact that you could ask that your room not be cleaned every day; the hotel would then donate a few euros to some sort of green charity.
Although the staff was polite, smile once in a while would not hurt.
Locaiton was excellent. cheerful stuff was welcoming to guests.
you should put minibar into room to use also for protect something.
Good breakfast. Nice clean rooms.
Noisy outside on Friday night.
Location - perfect for the cathedral/centre, only a few steps away. Breakfast, and breakfast room - very good., well looked after. Car parking - good that there is that provision, is in a multi-storey across the road Room as expected for a Mercure The cathedral, seat of the Holy Roman Emperors for 600 yrs, is well worth the city centre hassle.
No fault of the hotel but Aachen traffic something of a challenge especially with bus lanes changing from centre of the roads to the sides, and being used by bikes as well as buses - and taxis. You need self-preservation radar on full alert. The car park takes a little working out. The simplest entry is via a covered gap between shops opposite the hotel, and crossing over the pavement. Once through the gap, after 100 yards, there is a fork in the road, with the car park straight ahead. Take the left fork and immediately the entry to the Mercure part is down a ramp on the right. Ring the bell and announce yrself to hotel reception. The car park is gated so once inside, yr car should be safe. For exit merely draw up to the gate, cross the yellow line, and the gate lifts.
Our hotel is in the heart of the old Carolingian city of Aachen, home to world-famous sights such as the Imperial Cathedral and Carolus Thermen baths. Our 3-star Superior Mercure Aachen am Dom hotel has 117 rooms with free WIFI. Arrival: The hotel is just 766 yards from the main train station, 24.9 miles from Maastricht Aachen Airport and 49.7 miles from Cologne/Bonn Airport. If traveling by car, we are 1.9 miles from the A544 highway and you can park in a public car park near the hotel (charges apply).
