Pros: Watching the weaver birds outside our room making their beautiful nests and Mr Right the most gorgeous guard dog (Great Dane/ Rhodesian Ridgeback cross) chewing on his bone/carcass and the birds joining him.

Pros: The Eagle Rock is situated in a beautiful hilly landscape close to Windhoek. The place has a history for teaching young girls to become professional waitresses during the time when " Mr. Helmut's Schule" was active during the 1970th and 1980th . The school was later taken over by the Namibian government. The current manager of Eagle Rock is Ariane who manages the place with dedication and competence. If you plan to book a stay in this place you will not go wrong.

Pros: The most peaceful and relaxing place to stay close to Windhoek. The food was good and the woman who runs the place is very accomodating and friendly. She and her friends joined us at the dinner table and we were chatting for quite some time. Nice library and pool area, as the previous review said, the birds are nice to watch

Pros: What an experience, it is almost impossible to transfer to words. A business lodge situated a couple of km from Windhoek, while it may be the perfect venue for a conference or team outing, it was just as perfect for a short get-away. The manageress and staff were extremely friendly, and went out of their ways to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Upon arrival we took advantages of the king size bed, and caught up on some well-deserved sleep, after which we were treated with coffee and sweet treats. We all gathered after sunset for dinner - and what a mouthwatering experience. We were treated with smoked Zebra carpaccio and a green salad for a starter, main course was a game fillet, roasted potatoes, crazy ginger sweet potato, and dessert was a homemade vanilla and chocolate ice cream. What a meal, in the middle of nowhere. Before dinner we joined the manageress, her partner and permanent tenants around a table, sipping wine and sharing stories. After dinner, we joined around the fireplace to wind-down the evening. We woke up to warm coffee in-front of our room. Generally when staying on a lodge you are rushed the next morning to make breakfast, but at Eagle Rock you can sleep in and enjoy a homemade breakfast after 8. This was most certainly not our last stay.

Pros: Dinner was great. Ariane took very well of us. We saw many animals while driving around in de surroundings of the lodge.

Cons: it was in a nice neighborhood but a bit removed from other things, so it was either a bit of a walk or a drive to get places, but we expected that so were ready with our own car

Pros: Beate was wonderful. Very helpful and engaging. Homemade breads and fabulous breakfast complete with fruit, yogurts, cold meats, omelettes or eggs made to order. Tge location is in Klein Windhoek in a beautiful residential area. We were able to walk to the city center very easily and a 10 minute taxi ride. Highly recommend

Pros: Quiet and comfortable place to stay in a safe and convenient neighborhood. Breakfast was tasty and the pool looked inviting (wish we'd had time to try it). The hostess was helpful in directing us to places to visit in town.

Pros: Very good value for money. Friendly staff. It’s the second time I’ve stayed here. Able to provide glasses and ice buckets from the bar. Bedding and towels clean. Arranged airport transfer and made restaurant reservations on my behalf. Would recommend for a short stop over in Windhoek.

Cons: The camp was extremely busy with guests and as a consequence I found the bathrooms were not as clean as the previous time I had stayed. It was also noisy in the early morning when one group was packing up to leave.

Pros: Lovely quirky camp. ‘Tents’ very comfortable beds and enough room inside. Have a fridge and beverage making facilities. Nice bar/ restaurant area and small pool. Lovely surroundings. Good menu and good food. Staff very friendly and helpful. Well patrolled by security guards and high fences surrounding it. Fair WiFi. But that’s throughout most of Namibia.

Cons: A bit too far from the airport which we hadn’t realised. But that wasn’t the fault of the property. Approx 40 mins drive.

Pros: Secure parking for cars and camping trailer; WIFI to connect with home; clean and spacious outdoor showers with hot water; walking distance from Joe's Beerhouse and a bar with cold beer on return. You can really feel the love and thought that's gone into creating this little oasis in the city. There were even electric blankets on the beds which was a real treat in August!

Pros: We got no sleep for 2 nights in room 7 and 6 - YOU had the moving Hotel there with guest and the next night another tour group arrived - We were kept awake unitl 11pm and woken up by 5:30am because of the noise from both groups - Talking and laughing at the to of their voices

Cons: LOONG to wait for coffee. Much too Long. Only one coffeemachine ( Espresso machine. No coffee in (coffee-) pots. many people complaint about that.

Pros: I've been to Hilltop Guesthouse several times in the past few years (it’s my 6th or 7th overnight stay there...). Breakfast on and the view from the terrace is always nice. The staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful. They provide useful tips where to go, what to see and help with reservations/taxi etc.

Cons: Going downtown requires a taxi/transportation...

Cons: I booked a shuttle to the airport with them. We agreed on 300 Nam$, when I arrived to the airport the driver actually demanded 350Nam$. Its the type of think that leaves a bad taste of the place :(

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms (1, 2 & 3)were big and comfortable. Tea/coffee-making facilities. Breakfast was plentiful.

Cons: Parking arrangement was a nightmare (all guests tend to have large 4x4's obviously).

Cons: Not exactly in the center of Windhoek, but it was not hard to take a ride in case of need.

Pros: Ian (the owner), is very helpful and friendly, we appreciate to meet him and his wife, we recommend this adresses as your first step in Namibia !

Pros: The hotel staff is very welcoming, the rooms are small but most of them have separate balcony or terrace. Prices are very good especially compared to the national parks.

Cons: Although we asked how long we can get dinner (answer was “until late”) we were not able to get dinner after 9pm. The bar was also closed when the football match ended and not when the guests have finished their drinks.

Pros: a quirky clean and friendly hotel which has great dining facilities too. Good breakfast and a dinner menu varied enough to suit all, the game steaks were excellent! We visited at the beginning of our travels and liked it so much we went again at the end. Love the resident artist wall paintings.

Pros: Staff very friendly and efficient. Hotel easy to find on the map. Location is on a slightly busy road during working hours. Hotel is not really walking distance to town, but probably only 5 minutes by taxi or car. There is a bar with good bar meals and an evening BBQ there for those that do not wish to venture out. All in all great VFM and excellent service, with free parking.

Cons: The road was a little noisy from about 0700 hours.

Pros: Lovely quirky property with large rooms n bathrooms with large, colourful murals decorating walls. Staff helpful n restaurant on site does bbqd meals. About a 10 minute walk from town. Didn’t appear to be any nearby restaurants or shops so need transport.

Cons: Some of rooms on busy road n not sure why I always seemed to be offered one of those. Very small pool. Early morning Airport transfer with Bennie (outside service) was some 20 minutes late despite being reconfirmed twice.

Pros: North of town overlooking a residential valley. Very convenient for drive to the airport. Parking place inside gate. Nice pool. Choose top floor with balcony.

Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast was a great start to the day. Well located for access to airport and city. Room was tidy, but I would have loved a bit more workspace.

Cons: This is one of the older establishments. Not all the listed television channels according to the printed list in the room were available. Basin in bathroom did not drain well. Furnishings will need a makeover in the near future. I expected never furnishings for the price we paid.

Cons: I would have preferred that the curtains have more block out. It's very light in the rooms, due to outside lamps all around the guesthouse.

Pros: This is a very classy hotel with superb rooms and we considered it gave excellent value for money. The breakfast was delicious with a wide menu and the staff very obliging. It is set in a nice area of the city and was easy to locate. The staff were very helpful in identifying really good restaurants for our evening meals. Overall a superb experience.

Cons: Not much. However, a preventative maintenance program should be initiated asap. There were a few niggles such as loose toilet seats & taps leaking water onto the floor and & painting that is a bit overdue.

Cons: We had either fleas or bedbugs in our bed, was bitten senseless. When I checked out and suggested the room gets fumigated, the receptionist did not know what I was talking about. all the ceiling lights in the room fused. The solar light provided in the room was flat. The tap at the wash basin was faulty.

Pros: Great location, great sunset view, impewssive restaurant. Helpful staff speaking not only in English and German, but in Russian also. Good breakfast. Personalized attitude of the staff. Spacious parking. Big and stilysh room with a comfortable bed. Fully packed mini-bar.

Cons: Moskitous in the room, but the staff did something - next night everything was good. A bit strange WiFi sistem - voucher with password is valid for one day only, every next day you have to ask for a new one.

Pros: They offered champagne and small cake on arrival which was a lovely and welcome touch. Rooms are a good size and feel like Europe because they are quite old and beautifully decorated. Bed is comfortable and facilities all you need. Air conditioning needed tweaking which took a while to work out but was good in the end. Pool area was perfect not overlooked and shade or sun options with the loungers. Food was exceptional as was the service, a little expensive compared to other places in Namibia but the standards were up to European standards in London or Paris. Staff always friendly and wanted to help with anything you asked which was great.

Cons: Our room had an interconnecting door, great when travelling with a family, sadly we weren't and our neighbours checked out at 3am, were very noisy and woke us for two hours whilst they packed. The breakfast room was lovely, some wallpaper we hanging off the wall...but it's an old room! It was quite pricey compared to other hotels in the city, but it was worth it.

Pros: A wonderful place to stay at the start of our Namibian holiday. A beautiful room with patio, first-class breakfast and very friendly staff. We were able to walk into the city centre from the guesthouse. Excellent value for money - and the carrot cake was scrumptious!

Pros: The staff were very friendly and looked after me really well. Was very impressed at how clean everywhere was, especially the shared kitchen. And the breakfast was great.

Cons: When it said a shared bathroom, I didn't realise it would be sharing it with so many other rooms and that it would be quite as long a walk, across the other side of the courtyard and through the kitchen and dining room.

Cons: most poorly appointed rooms. Lodge invoked full cancellation fees one hour prior to my check in. Stair rail broken. Dirty shower. No management to be found anywhere near guests for duration stay. Dinner was below expectation and actually poor. Front deck of Restaurant is tired. AC of room is too small for size of room. Bed is creaking, only one blanket. No dresser, no mirror in room. Huge gap between bathroom door and door frame. Lack of maintenance visible everywhere. with the current drought shower water has to run for more than 5 minutes before the water is warm. Access road to lodge is in bad condition and heavily corrugated.

Pros: Incredible dinner and breakfast. Chef Stephan is an outstanding cook. The lodge has an ideal location right next to Windhoek. The rooms have everything you need. I will stay there again, when I return to Namibia!

Pros: Food served during breakfast, lunch and dinner was fantastic. This is the strongest point of Immanuel Wilderness Lodge. They also have some animals walking on the property near a waterhole. This is also very nice to see. The pool area is clean and towels are available, the water in July is freezing cold so be aware of that. Wifi in the main building is very good. All staff members are very friendly. The owners know what they are doing.

Cons: The beds and bathrooms in the houses are outdated. I know this is always a matter of price versus quality but the bathroom facilities in the appartments/houses could certainly use a refreshment.

Pros: Great place. Just outside Windhoek. You must book the dinner at the place. I will promise you it´s great. One of Namibia best places for dinner. Love all theirs dogs and cats.

Cons: The pool is very cold in the winther time. The rooms are small but in a ok condition. Bathrooms still needs a shower curtain to avoid water all over the floor.

Pros: One hour away from the airport. In my opion a great stay on your way in or out Namibia. Great welcome by the staff, everything was well explained. Good WiFi Clean rooms and comfy beds. Very friendly staff overall and especially the food is amazing! Both dinner and breakfast! They even helped me by arranging a surprise for my partner's birthday. Also they handled my food allergy really well, the alternative they had was really delicious.

Cons: Not so fond of the single bedding on the double bed, but those seem to be popular throughout Namibia

Pros: Excellent beer from the on site brewery, beautiful pool, very large room and bathroom. Walking distance to grocery store, Joe's beer house and cafes. Friendly staff that helped us with booking last minute safaris, city tours, early check in, laundry and airport transfers.

Cons: The room was very dated. Broken floor tiles directly in the path one has to cross in front of bed. Broken shower door. Air-conditioner were not able to cool down the room. NO warm water on the last morning of my stay.

Cons: I always used to stay at Olivegrove years ago and thought it will be the same but was mistaken.Lots of noice in room.Had to switch fridge off in middle of the night due to noice.Drain in bathroom made noises in the night.Bed was good,tv so small.Breakfast ask for cappachino and was told sorry we dont have only to see another customer order a cappachino. Ordered brown toast only to be told sorry only white and rye bread,ordered white toast,received breakfast first,waited for toast,went to kitchen and ask for the toast to be told toast is on its way.Finished breakfast with no toast.Toast arrived when I was busy leaving.Staff member said sorry and walked away.Wont stay at Olive Grove again.

Pros: The room was neat and pleasant. We were tired after the sossusvili camp tour. I've recovered enough here, especially for breakfast. Also, we went to airport from hotel by transportation (paid).

Cons: I wish the hotel would be a little cheaper. And I felt uncomfortable because there was no shower partition.

Pros: The staff was extremely helpful. We came at an odd time but they opened up the kitchen so that we could get a snack and then when we told them the airport would be delivering our bags they took over looking out for them and ensuring us that they would call if they didn’t arrive. The food we had, especially the dinner, was very good.

Cons: We were warned after booking that our room might be a little noisy because of the location. That turned out to be true though it was not a real problem as we had to leave early anyways. The pool was smaller than it looked on the pictures.

Pros: Fantastic location, property and facilities. We spent a couple of nights here at the end of our trip and had an amazing time. The owner and staff were great, making us feel comfortable from the start. The tents are beautiful and offer great views, where you can spot giraffes, orixs, etc whilst you are sitting comfortably at your own portge or having breakfast! Will definitely come back... It's just a great way to reboost your energy whilst in transit or at the end of your trip.

Pros: The lady at the desk Carol - owners daughter was extremely rude. She was yelling at me on the phone for asking for directions. Not my fault it's in the middle of no where and there is insufficient signage. When we got to the location she didn't greet us but continued with her rude, condescending tone. Even told us we can leave if we want. Totally not professional. I told her to stop her nonsense and respect us. Also refused to leave as that would have been a total waste of my time. She eventually apologized and treated us more respectfully. Carol don't talk to people like that, it very wrong if you are in customer service.

Cons: Just realized I mixed the likes and don't like and cant copy and paste so I will leave as is. It's a self catering lodge so everything else was great besides the foolish attitude from the owners daughter.

Pros: The accomodation was great : very confirtable and very clean . Proximity with Windhoek. The animals the morning.

Cons: Need to develop family room or to accomodate some rooms with sofa to welcome parents and small kids in the same place - we were forced to book 2 rooms

Pros: The property was amazing with loads of animals that you can spot on your walks around the property, and since may come up to your rooms.

Cons: The roads are a bit tough to get to the property including some very steep bumpy descents

Pros: Super close to Windhoek, making it the perfect quick weekend getaway or the perfect place to stay for anyone passing through Windhoek! Also easily accessible without a 4x4. And the oryx on the afternoon walk was the cherry on top of a wonderful weekend!

Pros: We liked the view at the mountains very much! And the lovely dog that joined us + the giraffes walking around in the area made it extra fun! The staff was very friendly and it's certainly a place to go back again.

Cons: If you only go there for the night, okay, the tents are pleasant. Worse if you get earlier in the day. Unfortunately, there are no sun loungers by the pool, which can be seen in the pictures. There are no trees that would give a shade. There is nothing, no garden, only dried bushes. A very neglected place. In a tent on day 40 degrees. You have nowhere to go. We were very disappointed with this place.

Pros: The most friendly people I have ever met..... can’t wait to go back for that tranquility, beauty and relaxing experience. It’s unbelievable to think we are only a few kilometers from the city. Our stay was too short. We are definitely doing this again.

Pros: Lovely and clean luxury tent. Set on a mountainside just 10km outside Windhoek. Two giraffes live on the premises and can be seen walking by your tent windows! Perfect for the first/last day of your trip. Kind host brought us 2 glasses of champagne after checking-in and her lovely golden retriever spent an hour or two just chilling with us on our balcony.

Pros: I booked this hotel as I wanted to take pictures of the sunset over Windhoek. The location didn't disappoint. My Partner and I enjoyed a cocktail at the Sky Bar and watched the sunset. We then had a business dinner in the Restaurant which went off without a hitch. Great location, views, and food.

Pros: Everything.... Super friendly people. executive lounge very good service. extraordinary cleaning. Value for money, excellent breakfast. incredible! I loved it ... as always!

Pros: Bedroom and toilet were big and confortable, breakfast was excellent. Location right in the center of the city is quite explendid. Swimming pool on the rooftop is very nice.

Cons: We were on the first floor and during the night we could hear some noise from the street.
