Pros: It is the second time we stay at the B&B dei Papi. We were enthusiastic the first time, and now even more : the new room downstairs dedicated to the breakfast is very cosy, and we also enjoyed the new equipment that Rosanna installed in a new room dedicated to well-being. Last but not least, our room at the top was so calm and its atmosphere was so sweet that we slept very well !

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best hotel in our trip around Italy. The location is excellent, everything is at walking distance, the host is lovely and the room very confortable. I highly recommend B&B Orchard.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I was visiting Viterbo for couple of nights and stayed in B&B Orchard. The accommodation is perfectly located in the city center very close to Porta Romana train station. It is clean, cleaned every day. Francesca and Valter are very hospitable hosts, willing to help and respecting your privacy. The breakfasts were delicious I especially enjoyed the homemade apricot marmelade of Francesca :-) The (late) check-in and check-out was without any problems. I was also allowed to leave my baggage in the flat to enjoy the city during the last day (since my plane was leaving in the evening).
Cons: The room I stayed in is oriented to the street which is sometimes noisy even during the night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine except breakfast.
Cons: Breakfast. Everyday the same. No variety.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is an artist with a flair for decoration and she has painted Chinese style pictures for the walls. The B&B was very comfortable and quiet and the owner is very friendly and helpful. She gave us a welcoming drink and sorted out our luggage. Breakfast was excellent with fruit, bread., jams, croissants, cake and very good coffee. We had a very peaceful night's sleep and enjoyed being in the old town.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: it's in the town and convenient to visit the church. the owner is kind to help you where to park and where to have a good dinner.
Cons: The breakfast is abundant with all kinds of bread. it is better to have some yogurt or fruits.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great owner, super helpful
5.4 Okay
Pros: Interesting ancient building. The owner communicated initially well and when we had an issue was responsive.
Cons: First, we were not told anyone else would be in the section of the property and when they arrived with their dog we were surprised and bothered by the barking. We paid for breakfast upon arrival, but come 8:30 there was no breakfast for us and it seemed to be a HUGE issue, rather than simply giving us something. We left to find a cafe after 15 min of discussion and phone calls. The premises seems to be DIY and not very put together!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly host with a lot of tips and advices, good location, very good breakfast. It's a really nice play to stay in distinctive medieval city of Viterbo.
Cons: Shower should be adjustable (current version isn't very convenient).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location and the hosts. Very kind, helpful and hospitable. Breakfast was fantastic and leisurely. The location allowed us to easily walk everywhere.
Cons: It was hot, there was no air conditioning.

Pros: Excellent value for money. Quiet and relaxing location, perfectly inserted in the surrounding picture of the old medieval town of Viterbo protected by the ancient defensive walls.
Podere Dell'Arco Country Charme - Viterbo - Building
4
9.6 Excellent (114 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Dating back to the 15th century, this rustic, countryside retreat is ideally positioned just 2 km away from the Medieval Quarter, the Palazzo Papale, and the Terme dei Papi thermal centre. The building is set amid typical countryside of the Viterbo region, covering 30-hectares of meadows, olive groves, lavender fields and small orchards. For this reason it is an ideal starting point for interesting walks or bike rides. Taking a walk within the grounds of the farm will lead you to a little hill which offers a lovely view of the Palazzo dei Papi, which towers above Porta Faul and centuries-old city walls. As a guest of the Podere Dell'Arco Country Charme, you can enjoy discounts on the thermal services of the Terme dei Papi. In addition to this, the position of the hotel allows you to enjoy excursions to nearby lakes, historical gardens and houses, and castles.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for two nights in June 2018 and would happily stay there again. Some of the highlights included: The breakfast - fantastic. Served in the courtyard and extremely generous. The staff - Anna and her husband are lovely hosts. The location - very handy to Viterbo. The pool - excellent. The room - we stayed in 'Atmosfera'. Very comfortable apartment, over two levels. Slightly separate from the rest of the building. Private and quiet. We would be happy to stay there again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, lovely pool and grounds, horses, tractors our son loved, room was lovely, plenty to do within the area (up to 1 hour drive), lovely hosts, would highly recommend
8.8 Excellent
Pros: a very nice, quiet, clean countryside house with lots of plants /flowers although the lavender was not fully grown this year.
Cons: the surrounding is quiet but better equipped with mosquito net at the windows. Otherwise will be wakened if window kept opened at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I cannot fault this place, everything is simply wonderful. The gardens, the rooms, the building and above all, Anna. We stayed in the 'Atmosfera' room. It felt like it had been designed especially for me, it was perfect. I want to move in permanently! Lovely weekend, lovely place, lovely people.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely stay at this property. The property itself was gorgeous and relaxing, and the rooms were well appointed. Anna is an incredible hostess. She is kind and knowledgeable and made sure we felt right at home. We enjoyed our breakfast outside, the homemade cakes were delightful (thanks Anna!). We can't wait to come back...maybe in June when the lavender fields are at their peak!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an absolutely magic place! Every bedroom has a lovely living room as well, which makes the stay extremely comfortable as you get a nice generous table to work, a sofa to relax, and even kitchen facilities if you want to cook. Just perfect. The building is a unique period property, tastefully furnished, a real joy to spend time in. The estate is gorgeous - the lavender field you see in the photos is right next door, a subtle perfume of lavender wafts in now and again making the place feel literally like out of a fairytale. For us, a big plus was the spotless garden and swimming pool, perfect to chill after a day of sightseeing, so do pack a swimsuit. The owners are delightful and extremely helpful - Mrs Anna even drove us to the station and gave us great suggestions on what to see and where to eat: literally the best hosts we've ever encountered, charming and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is very quiet and relaxed, we've had the most restful long weekend and would have loved to stay way longer, it is an enchanted and enchanting place. The Podere is obviously perfect if you want to visit the area by car, but we decided not to drive and instead walked everywhere and used public transport+taxis, and it was absolutely fine. The walk from the Podere to Viterbo centre is about 15 min, a very pleasurable stroll as you walk on a shaded path cut in tufa rock, once a stretch of the pilgrimage route 'via Francigena': totally gorgeous. And of course we have to mention the superlative breakfast with homemade organic cakes, yum!!! Seriously, you can't imagine a more perfect holiday. Thank you so much to the amazing owners!
Cons: -

Pros: We had a lovely stay at Podere Dell'Arco Country Charme. Anna and her family made us feel so welcome, and were extremely helpful. The place has been wonderfully restored, while retaining the character of this lovely old building. We would recommend it unreservedly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Anna was a spectacular hostess. She came and got us at the train station, gave us helpful information, and was wonderful, in general. Breakfast was great. There really are lavender fields next to the property--stunning! The place is better than the pictures. The pool is perfect. It's about a 15 minute walk into town to restaurants, though we cooked at the place several times.
Cons: It was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The residence was a beautiful italian country house, in perfect state and Very well taken care of. The estate was styled with a beautiful sense of style. Aditionally the gardens, lavender fields And garden with swimmingpool where astonishing And Just beautifull. 5
9.4 Excellent (247 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at B&B La Lanterna in Viterbo, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Spa of the Popes and Viterbo Cathedral. Featured amenities include luggage storage, a safe deposit box at the front desk, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really a lovely place faboulously convenient in the oldest "Pellegrino" quarter of the town.
Cons: Two tiny things - we had the very top room so very low ceilings as you get towards the edge of the rooms - had either of us been above 170cms it might have been tricky moving around in the dark and avoiding beam! Lovely room though. Plus at breakfast - which we tried to do before the staff arrived - we had a little difficulty finding the coffee pods! We succeeded though in the end!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner waited for us until late because we had a problem with the commuting. He left everything ready to make our settling easy, quick and comfy. He and his partner were in permanent communication during our trip to help us with the schedule and be sure that we could arrive well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly host, good breakfast, clean, comfortable, and great location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warming place and hospitable landlord. There is no word for describing this fantastico place. The only pity thing is that we only stayed one night here. Should stay more. Grazie
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming location. Clean. Staff very helpful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The building was very old, medieval house. Nice to sleep at. The location of the house was good, we could walk easily to the old center. The parking area is available and very close to the house. The landlady was kind. The heating was also good.
Cons: Cold and stale croissant were very disappointing. The product quality at the breakfast was quite low. There was a big coffee machine which the landlady could use and serve coffee which was also not so good, at least hot.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: In the heart of the medieval town and in an ancient house, this B&B location allows for a look inside these old homes we have all passed by in historic cities. Although the building is old the rooms have been beautifully updated and outfitted to meet the needs of modern travellers. The room was large, clean and comfortable and the staff was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Parking is limited and somewhat challenging with the narrow streets but our hostess was extremely helpful in guiding us to the location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location clean air con
Cons: Breakfast wasn’t the best
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host is very kind and helpful! Everything is perfect- location, cleanness, new furniture! I recommend to stay here!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was charming and comfortable. Great, comfortable bed. Strong air conditioning. The breakfast was fine, typical simple Italian style. The staff was above and beyond helpful. I needed to check in just a little early and they graciously accommodated. I left an item and they even mailed it to me in Rome, refusing repayment for this. I cannot recommend this highly enough; truly a thoughtful and wonderful experience.
Cons: There is nothing at all to fault. There's a steep hill if you're walking straight down from the city center; obviously this is not anything to change, but it is not obvious when you are planning.

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly. Great location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful host. Warm, quiet and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast, plenty of fruit and food. Excellent restaurant nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Renato was very welcoming and helpful. He even parked out car in the garage.
Cons: The A.C. in the room was noisy so couldn't be left on overnight. Most of the food provided for breakfast was very sweet. Would have liked something as simple as toast to be available.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location. It is just inside the city walls and close to the universe. The staff is friendly and the room was clean. Great value.
Cons: I wish there was shampoo in the room. Other than that I have nothing else that I thought they could change for what I received for the cost.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good room with everything you need for the night, right in the heart of Viterbo. Host was wonderful and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Renato, the manager, was extremely helpful. He gave me excellent directions for my day trips. He helped me clean up my car when it was vandalized during my trip to Ostia Antica. The location was fine. The breakfasts were good, but I would have liked a little protein, e.g. eggs, meat product. The expresso was very good.
Cons: Eggs or meat with breakfast would have been nice though not an essential.
Villa La Cerretana - Viterbo - Outdoor view
7
9.1 Excellent (244 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Villa La Cerretana is a large country house with 15 hectares of beautifully kept gardens. It is located just a few minutes's drive from Bagnaia and Viterbo. La Cerretana rooms feature original period furniture and frescos, free internet access, and LCD TV with satellite channels.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room and the landlord are the surprise. Very nice lovely old man and very home feeling house. When we check out, we even got some lavender presents. We really enjoyed the hospitality.
Cons: nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: The price and the staff (owner and his wife were very gracious and helpful). Pretty countryside surrounding the villa. Several of the common rooms are luxurious--carved wood ceilings, ornate chandeliers, beautiful period furnishings, oriental rugs... but the remainder of the villa is furnished in a haphazard and less than attractive manner.
Cons: The villa needs a makeover. Our bed was a foam mattress on a very low platform; not at all comfortable. Decor in our suite was a mix of modern, art deco, and period pieces! Wifi not accessible in our suite. Terrace in suite was unkempt. Owner was burning trash in the backyard creating billowing smoke which you could distinctly smell in our room. Their location and access road are not digitized on GPS systems making it difficult to find. Bottom line--this is not a luxury country villa but it could be with a major makeover. Photos are misleading.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I always love the place and will come back thousand time , the owner is really kind and beautiful you feel family and his wife is very nice and kind
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Very old which has its cute , owners friendly and helpful.
Cons: Property needs maintenance , no local bars or restaurants to eat and breakfast was very basic .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host and breakfast were fantastic!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The villa is elegant and Ilario is justifiably proud of his gracious home.
Cons: The Villa is difficult to find.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: I have used bookings many times and have always found the ratings to be accurate however on this occasion I have been left wondering. The villa is very tired and unkempt. Can’t believe I am in Italy and the croissants on offer were in packets?? The breakfast very poor. Really no English spoken and given that the property is out of town could not even offer any assistance on where we could eat. The pool room was a shambles and filthy. Every chair or couch was covered in dog hair. Would not recommend this property at all.
Cons: See above please.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is an idyllic house in a rural location. The host was very welcoming. Rooms were very large, including the bathroom. Breakfast was on the whole good, except for the bread (minor misgiving). Parking was easily accessible.
Cons: Outside the premises could be better kept. A pool could be better suited instead of the gym room outside, or hot tub.
7.9 Good
Pros: We felt very welcome, like visiting friends. We received useful advice for escursions and restaurants in the surroundings
Cons: Somewhat difficult to find with GPS Navi due to its location outside main roads.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful room.
Cons: Bathroom door didn't close properly, bathroom needs renewal overall.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old house just inside the town gates. The room was actually a little apartment with a huge terrace and kitchenette, which was perfect when I wanted a light dinner (after too much eating out). The bathroom was fitted very well, the first time I've seen one of those massage showers actually work! The bed was also very comfortable, and I felt very much at home.
Cons: There is a flour mill next to the building, which can generate a little bit of noise, but it's barely noticeable. It would also be nice perhaps to have fresh bread / pastries for breakfast, rather than packaged items, but even so, it was adequate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: very intersting place, just in the centre
Cons: parking place, but it is standart in whole Italy, that in very old town you have to be ready to park a little bit far...
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s location just inside city gate.
Cons: Low ceiling in part of bedroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was helpful and went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was clean and comfortable and very relaxing, swimming pool was really nice.
Cons: Wifi could be better
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The suite was big and well furnished, good beds. Pool was excellent and surroundings are lovely. It is in the middle of nowhere, but that was exactly what we were looking for.
Cons: The pool buy found it necessary to play music full time at the pool. Why would you book a resort hotel in the middle of nowhere, only to be forced to listen to the not so original music taste of the pool buy (who refused to stop the music even when asked).
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Molto bella l'ubicazione. Ideale per conoscere i dintorni oltre che usufruire della SPA e delle terme-
6.7 Good
Pros: Gorgeous location and comfortable beds!
Cons: Food is only served at certain times. It is also very expensive. The location is fine if you have a car but if not, you are a little bit stranded. Staff don’t speak much English.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good sized bed. Lovely pool area
Cons: Price list at poolside hut would have been nice. Rooms were cleaned too quickly
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Excellent restaurant and service
6.3 Good
Pros: Very well present resort with nice pool and surrounding gardens. The restaurant, while expensive, is very nice.
Cons: Weird. This has to be one of the strangest places we have stayed in. Although the hotel was fully booked during our stay it was like a ghost town. Equally it was deafeningly quite, people would whisper around the pool. My wife was scared to go for a swim as she didn’t want to make any splashing noises! I could honestly compare this hotel to a monastery. As a result there was no guests to be seen at night so zero atmosphere. The hotel also takes a strange approach to food. Lunch stops at 1.30 / 2 and then only serves pool food if there is someone there to make it. The evening restaurant is open 8-9, that is it. We were unfortunate enough to check in at 3pm on a day with no chef, this meant we had to wait till 8pm for food and we where starving. Based on this I just don't know how it has 4 stars. Be mindful that the pool prices are very expensive, €5 - €8 for a small bottle of beer. This hotel is clearly designed for a certain type of clientele, people who want to relax is complete silence in a very isolated location (with no food). I can’t be overly critical as this place just wasn’t for us, we are a young married couple who called in while doing a tour of Italy. We were supposed to be staying for 3 night and left after 1, we couldn’t wait to escape.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This venue is out of town and offers a very relaxing place to stay. We stopped here for a night enroute to another part of Italy and loved the large swimming pool which was inviting during the hot weather. The surrounding gardens are delightful and we could see many outdoor activities were available. The room was pleasant, with an outdoor table and chairs and the inner courtyard of the venue offered space to relax over a meal or a drink. Guests seemed to enjoy the nearby Terme and transport was offered to various local points of interest.
Cons: The restaurant was alright but a little expensive.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Superb landscape design, nice interiors, confortable bed, private terace.
Cons: At check in, room temperature was 20 C.

Pros: Great hospitality, beautiful antique house, great location at the old town, recommended.
Cons: Located at ZTL,area limited for cars, so it is problematic if coming by car. You have to park outside the walls.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A centrally located B&B to explore Viterbo. Park outside the city walls and walk in. We only took to the hotel what we needed for a one night stay. About a 15 minute walk from the parking lots. Use Google Maps or a good GPS. Small B&B with 3 rooms. Very nice people, however no English is spoken, but you can manage. I enjoyed speaking my limited Italian.

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: This is not a residence, but apartments for students in a secure building
Cons: There is no view from the rooms, but views other buildings; it's a new complex for students with spartan furniture; the air condition started to leak large quantities of water during the night in our room over the table.A feeling of an empty student campus building with a lot of locks.
5.6 Okay
Pros: Well appointed
Cons: Very difficult to find. No signage. No reception

Cons: The hotel is very updated and realy not 4 stars. We had a suite that is just a big room, no separate area. The airconditioner makes only cold air, the bathroom is older that me and the cleaning.....hair in the bathtube. Breakfast is poor sweets and 2 kinds of ham and cheese no vegetables, maybe thats the italian style.

Cons: Not the hotel's fault, but no good restaurant nearby.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very accommodating, helpful, and friendly. Location was as expected. Excellent service at breakfast with staff always ready to make fresh Italian coffee.
Cons: The pillows were too hard. One of our party had problems with a cold room. Showers were small, but it is a budget hotel (not a 3-star). The parking garage was difficult for any car bigger than a mini-compact. Probably this location and hot el might be best if you don't need to park a car.

Pros: Comfortable hotel centrally located, with good mid-size rooms and comfortable beds. Staff is truly kind and helpful and prices really unbeatable.
