Visesa Ubud Resort

The architecture of the resort is really beautiful with the rice field in the middle. The bathtub in the middle of the room was a nice touch too and they prepare flowers for us as a welcome.

The bathroom floor was not that clean and old, we didn’t want to touch it barefoot. There was an unpleasant smell in the toilet which bothered us a lot. The worse part about our stay, which really made it impossible for us to enjoy, was the location of the resort and the frequency of the shuttle bus. The shuttle bus to the city comes every 3-4 hours, which is really ridiculous, considering how close the city is (5 minutes by car). You can walk to the city as well, but there is is no walkway and scooters are coming and high speed from both sides, which make it very annoying to walk, especially in the hot weather. The shuttle probably doesn‘t come that often because they want you to use their taxi drivers. However, they charge ridiculously high prices (100k to the city and 150k to the monkey forest one way, the the same on top for roundtrip). When we wanted to go to the city, the next shuttle would come in 3h and no taxi driver was available. They also said they would not allow online taxis like Grab into the hotel, so they suggested to walk. Really bad experience, considering the remote location of the hotel. Because of the rice field there are so many insects and especially mosquitoes around. Yet, they don‘t even provide a mosquito spray like other places. The smartphone for the room service that they provide would crash frequently. When calling the reception with the phone, they just simply wouldn‘t pick up. We once ordered a coffee and some ridiculously high priced fruits (a small variety of fruits for 10 EUR) to the room and it took them almost 2h to bring them. When we called to ask where our food is, no one from the reception would pick up. I refused to pay the coffee in the end. They also charge ridiculously high prices for laundry service. They need to improve the shuttle service, decreased the rip off taxi prices and vastly improve their room service.
