Room was clean and tidy, Nice and quite. Parking available (First come basis) Carole was very polite and helpful. Fresh breakfast.
Stairs, but not a big issue if you are able to walk up the stairs to the rooms.
Location and hosts Carol and Gordon they make you feel very welcome lovely people.
Very comfortable bed and nice towels. Nice breakfast
I don’t know whether the owners are trying very hard to save on the improvement of the rooms or it is just their lifestyle. Cracked glass in the window, cracked washbasin in the room, a mirror with a damaged amalgam, sloppy wallpaper with peeled edges, an armchair with dirty light upholstery with the spots of unknown origin, a carpet with traces of the previous tenants (popcorn, hair, etc.) The hotel has a lot of restrictions and prohibitions, first in a letter after booking, then when you check-in you will get all these rules written in harsh inhospitable manner. I was shocked by the ban on calling owners during evening hours, for example. In other places, the owners have always encouraged visitors to contact with any questions at any time to make their visit comfortable and calm. Do not choose this hotel if you have a good ear and you are sensitively sleeping. You will hear all the biological sounds of your neighbours and all their communications. Unfortunately, my neighbour in the next room snored all night and it was completely impossible to sleep. Add to this a very noisy road nearby. I chose this hotel based on reviews that were extremely positive. But in reality, everything was completely different. Then I understood the reason. Owners urge visitors not to post negative reviews and only fill out the internal form.
This was an excellent value hotel with a great location and wonderful breakfast. The owners were very friendly and pleasant and for the price I am not sure there is much else that can compare locally!
I slept by the front door , I left my key in the room and I wasnt able to come into the hotel on the second night despite I rang to the hotel and reported my situation.I missed my flight and I have to buy a new ticet for my flight and I have to pay a lot of money. The owner has appealed before 10 a.m very cheerful like nothing happen .I really dont recommend this hotel the worst in the Torquay.
