This was a fantastic place to stay with small kids. There is a small public lounge with boxes of toys that our boys adored and a small kitchenette. The internal bedroom (no natural light) actually helped our kids sleep but wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste. The hostel was close to Ikebukuro Station and well sign-posted.
It’s in something of a ‘red-light’ district but still felt very safe - a lot of the local restaurants allow indoor smoking so I recommend researching where to eat in advance.
Great location in Ikebukuro and close to the main train station. It was very easy for us to explore Tokyo and Ikebukuro itself is a lively area. The building inside is nice and clean, including nice communal areas that include free water and green tea. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there is a nice welcoming atmosphere.
Maybe as we weren’t as used to sleeping tatami we found the mattresses quite hard on the floor. My husband found the male toilets very small and difficult to use, but I didn’t have the same issues with the female toilets. The showers were nice, however the was a used bandaid left in the shower and this wasn’t cleaned for 2 days.
great value & clean, nice and quiet had a great sleep.
only disadvantage is the location. its located within the red like district and you need to walk there from the subway station for about 10-15 min.
Everything was clean and convenient.
Tiny room with a tiny mattress. Basically just a place to sleep in. You wouldn't want to spend time there.
It’s have everything I need’t and near the station
