Breakfast was excellent, well served and the personnel was very friendly.
Due to Coronavirus Engadin Marathon was cancelled. As this was abnormal situation and not our fault I asked for hotel refund. or some 50:50 share. I reserved the room almost 1 year in advance and the hotel took the money on the first possible day (room, breakfast and city tax) for 4 persons. They did not want to hear for any compensation as no service was delivered, not even breakfast and tax! Be careful at reservations, they will charge you full amount on the first possible day. I am sharing with you my experience that they do not care for the guests, just money. Never ever again in this region and this hostel!
Modern reception design and lots of relevant local vouchers and newsletters Generous dinner for fixed price good breakfast close to cross-country tracks bus station in front
coffee and tea too by vendor machine too expensive no table in room missing veggies at breakfast buffet missing board games and play cards
The location at the end of a bus line from the train station was convenient, although the bus stopped running fairly early evenings. The staff were genuinely friendly, hard working, and that contributed to a good atmosphere among the guests. Furnishings and lighting in the restaurant and common sitting room were plain, but comfortable and pleasant.
On the floor and wing of the building where I stayed, no warm water reached the wash basin in the room, no matter how long i let it run. In the shower, the warm water was long in appearing, and at best meager. In the shower room, there was no provision for hanging clothing or towel. The door to the room, opening with an electric keyed mechanism, made so much noise (closed with an unavoidable clank) that everyone woke up when anyone came in late or got up during the night.
Didn't stay there as a result of the bad experience at the Balmers Hostel.
