The location is perfect, it's in Ortigia, close to the main sites.
The air-conditioning is very noisy. The hair-dryer was broken.
Location is good!
No parking, you’ve to arrive early to find a public parking space. No elevators.
No lift, 55 steps to room on 2nd floor, all but 15 without a handrail.manager did not offer to carry large suitcase even though we are both in our 70s. Breakfast disappointing, but breakfast staff helpful. Paid for sea view.no rooms here have sea view.street facing can,if standing on small balcony see sea glimpse at either end of street.
Access poor. As above 55 large steps to room, so 110 steps down and back for breakfast ! Worried a but about fire risk. Room detector not flashing. And front door exit locked out of hours with .large key on your room keys. Forget those in an emergency and it might be a problem.
We enjoyed the continental breakfast, served by excellent & friendly staff. The owner and part-time receptionist "Marco" was a great help and wanted us to enjoy our stay. Everywhere we went in the hotel the rooms were spotlessly clean. Our room was really spacious. The island of Ortigia which forms the original old town is quite small, from our balcony we could see the sea, at both ends of the street!
Reception is on the first floor with guest rooms above, so there are a lot of stairs.
Located In the hearth of Syracuse. From here it is easy to visit all the attractions in the old town. It is also close to shopping avenues, bars and restaurants. Large room in a quiet corner, but the view on the internal courtyard and on the adjacent decadent building was a bit sad for such a beautiful city. I had a tasty croissant with pasta di pistacchio for breakfast.
Perfect location, in the center of the town, and just 20 minutes away from the train station. ideal place, especially for 1 night stay. However the hotel is more a guest house than a hotel. The information on the property posted on booking.com are not accurate. The tariff would be fair if it was functioning as an hotel, 100%. But, as a B& B or guest house, there are better prices also in Ortigia. Usually when I travel alone I choose hotels with 24 hours reception. Said that, the place was safe. Booking should make a better distinction on its website on the topology of property.
