Great little hotel for a night. The price is great for the value. Location is ok for visit to Disney
Staff doesn't speak english which makes check-in challenging. The location is not ideal for overnight layovers as it is still half an hour from the airport
We stayed here in order to go to Disney land. A few things to note, on Booking.com it says that only mainland Chinese citizens can stay here. This is because a hotel which houses foreigners must get special permission from the government and a special certificate to house foreigners. This is likely why the foreigner hotels are always more expensive. Even though this hotel says only mainland Chinese, we called twice on two different days and spoke to two different people who said foreigners were perfectly ok. When we got there, they took my passport just like any other place in China, so its possible the Booking. com listing is outdated or it possible they're not supposed to take foreigner guests, but they do anyway. I was traveling with my Chinese friend and I speak Chinese myself, so it's difficult to say how their English is. I would assume, as in most places in the area, it's not fantastic. The area of Pudong is still mostly a poor village, with things like Disney land and the airport being only recent additions. You can't go somewhere like here and expect it to be like the city center of Shanghai or Beijing. There was no shuttle bus to Disney, but there was one of the most convenient buses I've ever seen. We simply had to walk to the highway, wait for the 8:40 bus (#51) and take it to the end of the line, where it drops people off at the metro station(we were at Disney when it opens at 9 am, but if you're there in the summer or on the weekend, don't worry, the bus starts at 6 am). It was so convenient it was as if we had a shuttle. The best part was that this hotel is in an area that is relatively unknown as of yet, so we never struggled to find a seat like those poor people on the metro have to. After the park closed at 8:30, you just have to walk back to where the bus dropped you off near the metro station and hop on, the bus will already be waiting there. And, unlike the metro, the bus only costs 2 yuan each way.
The Hanting Hotel (Shanghai International Tourism Resort) is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. With Wi-Fi in designated areas available, you'll have no problems keeping connected. Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Railway Station are located 16km and 35km away respectively. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. If cleanliness is important to you, this hotel makes an excellent choice, as our guests consider this to be one of the cleanest hotels in the city. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families. This is one of the most popular hotels in Shanghai, you can be assured of a great stay.
