I can see the Starria being a fine place to stay if you're only planning to be there for a night or two - however, we stayed there for over a week. The property has an undeniably good location, very close to the Myeong-dong markets and Seoul Tower as well as multiple bus stops and the train line. They have various promotional material for tourists that can get you some nice deals and inform you what's around. The traditional clothes that you can try on is a nice bonus. Wifi also works fine in both the lobby and rooms. Breakfast is serviceable, though very limited.
Very inconveniently can't pay before staying via bookings.com - so when we arrived late and I was then told I had to pay in cash immediately I had to go out walking for an international bank to withdraw. I was then told when I got back I could've payed later, but despite asking to do so before having to go searching, they only decided on it after I had already left. English was poor with the front desk staff I interacted with, their Chinese was better (thankfully my partner was fluent). The room was for three people, and even with the third of our travel group missing the trip, the room was barely large enough for 2; if there was another person there with their luggage, it would've been too small. The sheet protector that you were supposed to sleep on looked grubby and stained, so we opted to use the blanket from the unused bed to sleep on instead. The bathroom was also very small, and when showering, the toilet would get covered in water. As for the toilet itself, the bidet was completely broken and weakly leaked water directly into the toilet bowl. At one point the toilet seat fell completely off, and I'm glad that my partner wasn't injured. The soap/shampoo dispenser was growing mold where it had been stuck to the wall. Even though it was the tail-end of winter, the room was dreadfully hot, getting up to 28 degrees C - and we couldn't change it because either the instructions for the room's air conditioning were incorrect, or the air conditioning itself was broken. I woke up multiple times due to the heat. Aside from "simple room clean" (which we never experienced, because the hassle of packing our bags and getting them off the floor wasn't worth the tiny amount of space that would get vacuumed) sheet changes are charged, not that we slept on the sheets. The towels provided were no larger than hand towels.
Staff are friendly....breakfast is okay though...should have add at least ham or sausage or pancake...the property and room is clean...very accessible to station and convenience store...lots of restaurant around...
The small towel...but over all our stay was great
The location was great. I think one of the best locations in town.
Breakfast was a bit poor. But again, it was exactly as it was described. Perhaps a bit more range would have been nice.
The hostel is literally near Namsan Tower and Myeongdong MRT Station! Bonus: The Airport Bus is just around the corner as well. Overall, we love the location.
It would have been better if there is a self service laundry area where we can just do our laundry even if we pay extra. That way, we will be able to supervise how we wash our clothes.
No provide tooth paste and brush daily
