Pros: Wonderful find! Lovely staff, great room and facilities. Extra touches such as drink on arrival and bottles of water and biscuits in bag on departure. Amazing value. Highly recommend
Cons: Nothing!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location . Fantastic staff. Well reccomend.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, great buffet choice, and you can ask for anything cooked just for you.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was in a great location as it was close enough to the town centre to walk, but far enough away to get away from the noise. It had parking outside which was an added bonus when you have your own car but there was also plenty of parking in and around town. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was very well appointed. We also had a balcony which was really nice as we could sit outside in the evening with relative privacy.
Cons: The breakfast room was not very well organsied. The cereal area should have had a table so that you had somewhere to put your bowl down while you poured the cereal out so it was a bit of a juggling act. Also, the cutlery and serviettes should have been set out on the tables - instead, we had to collect our cutlery and serviettes ourselves. The choice of the cold breakfast options was quite limited. In view of the amount that was charged for our stay, the breakfast experience should have been much better.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The hotel restaurant has a very limited lunch and dinner menu. One evening being a Sunday no other restaurants were open in town so we ate here for dinner. Sad when "gyozas" are on the menu and they are prefrozen. Also the other items were very limited. I spotted the cook frying a piece of meat and asked what it was. it turned out to be a slice of veal. So apparently we could order this. Not on the menu however. Unfortunately it was like shoe leather and served cold along with some type of fried potato also cold. Considering some of the amazing meals that we had enjoyed in Spain this was a great disappointment. I feel that the hotel restaurant has a great potential to serve much better lunch and dinner meals. Sometimes it is really nice not to have to leave the hotel in search of a restaurant for a meal. For breakfast we only had the croissant and coffee. The full breakfast looked very substantial and a nice assortment of items. The waitress Christina was excellent and also the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has nicely decorated rooms, with plenty of light. The balcony is pleasant to sit on but around the swimming pool there is also plenty of opportunity to have a pre-dinner drink. The large in-bedroom whirlpool adds luxury to the room. We were impressed with the free drink and goodie bag on departure; such a nice gesture. Staff is friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, great location, great hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very warm welcome, excellent location, comfortable and large room, and parking in front of hotel or in their secure garage. They also gave us a goody bag when we left which was a lovely touch. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Cons: Bathroom door wasn't a tight fit so it felt a little indiscreet! Payment automatically taken in GBP though I prefer to pay in Euros.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, quirky touches to the decoration. Just super all round. Close enough to Santillano del Mar . Secure basement parking available. Tasty breakfast, some bits homemade . Lovely pool but sadly didn't have the opportunity to try it out.
Cons: Don't think anything could be improved on.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: kind helpful staff found me an appartment when hotel was full
5.7 Okay
Pros: close to the town
Cons: The bed is not comfortable, is the most important for hotel
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful; everyone spoke good English. When we asked where the bus stop to Santander was, they kindly provided us with a print out of the timetable. There is free parking on-site behind the hotel. The hotel is only 3 minutes walk from the medieval town centre. We didn't try the hotel's breakfast or dinner; but for breakfast I can highly recommend the corner bar that is on the way to the centre right at the big tourist parking opposite the tourist information.
Cons: The "double" bed was extremely small and not comfortable at all. Our feet were hanging over the edge - my boyfriend and I are not overly tall so I guess you need to be quite short in order to sleep in them in comfort. Also, we only had one pillow to share, but they provided us with a second one upon request. The reception is supposed to be open all night long, but they just leave the hotel door open and your room key on the reception desk. What might seem handy at first, is in fact very dangerous - anyone could walk in, take your key from the reception desk and burgle your room! Therefore I recommend not to leave the key with the receptionist. Overall, considering the low price, the hotel is still "good value for money".
5.7 Okay
Pros: Welcoming and friendly reception. Good location of hotel at walking distance of the center.
Cons: The hotel is situated along a pretty busy road so go for a room at the back and not on the ground floor- where the parking is. We changed rooms after day 1 because of the noice (and that of the kitchen airco at the outside wall). The hotel in general is pretty noisy as you can hear doors close and the reception phone ring. Bathrooms are good, room decoration pretty basic but ok I guess, though you would expect something extra special as the village is lovely. Breakfast seemed pretty basic but ok for the price I guess.
5.3 Okay
Pros: As we needed to leave the hotel around 8:30 a.m. next morning, we asked the receptionist to prepare the breakfast just before 8a.m. They kindly prepared it.
6.4 Good
Pros: Excellent location for old village and also good parking facilities. Easy access to all routes.
Cons: Windows on ground floor bedrooms left open after cleaning, poor security.
7.2 Good
Pros: Very friendly & helpful staff. Very clean. Well positioned for the old town, cafes & bars, tourist attractions (Caves, museum) We were able to walk everywhere.
Cons: The close proximity of the police station (almost opposite) meant that our car keys did not always work. Something to do with a radar device to prevent the remote detonation of explosive devices! Not the hotel's fault though, and they were quick to explain the reason, preventing a garage bill. I would also suggest that this "problem" does at least make this hotel a safe place to stay!!!
7.6 Good
Pros: very nice staff which try to help with very poor english... nice room, clean and confort. parking place. the location in a nice area. the breakfast is basic. good value for the cost.
Cons:
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very peaceful and we liked the decor.
Cons:
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and location were brilliant in a lovely area. Delightful
Cons: There was not anything we did not like. The only recommendation would be more brochures / info on the area

Pros: Great checkin, good value for money, fab location, free parking, comfortable beds, hot shower, lovely local village, good local restaurants

Cons: The door rattled...
8.3 Excellent
Pros: great location, lovely hostess, interesting town. Lovely view from our room. nice patio to sit outside and have drinks but you need to provide your own.
Cons: Internet didn't work, very basic breakfast , no hairdryer, no iron, no coffee or tea making facilities
6.3 Good
Pros: The place is very well located, close to the center of a very nice and lively village
Cons: Overal I was disappointed by the experience. Our room was quite dark and extremely noisy. The building really has a problem of soundproofing (we could hear people coming in or talking in their rooms as if they were sitting next to us). As a result, I was woken up several times a night. Breakfast was also disappointing: except for fresh orange juice, the rest was just low quality industial products, no cheese nor other alternative to sweet.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect and included free & easy parking. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We loved our stay.
Cons: We thought breakfast was delicious, but do not expect a large American style buffet.
7.7 Good
Pros: Very well located near the Plaza Mayor. Beautiful architecture. Very clean and well kept.
Cons: The beds had old and unconfortable mattresses. The breakfast, which was included, was extremely bad. It consisted of bad coffee, a piece of bread and an industrial croissant. The next morning we had breakfast in town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The city and the location of the posada were excellent The treat with the owner incredible A beautiful place
Cons: Perhaps offer a better breakfast even if it is more expensive
7.5 Good
Pros: nice location, friendly staff, free parking. room was very dark and noisy as it faced the street. don't expect water cooker/ hair dryer/ fridge in the room. breakfast very small and basic, all sweet (bread, jam, madalena & coffee), could be a bit more for the price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was super nice and it was great to have a parking place. Breakfast was typical spanish but good. It was a very nice house and we can definitley recommend it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I don’t usually leave reviews but honestly this is one of the best experiences I have ever had so I feel the need to share it. Since the moment you arrive the staff makes you feel like you’re at home, welcoming would be an understatement. The staff gives you a quick tour of the place, tells you about the history & then walks you up to your room. The room was not only cute and comfortable but also super clean!! The next morning I got to take advantage of their delicious breakfast. When it came time to checkout, once again the staff made sure to make me feel appreciated for my stay. There’s no doubt in my mind that if I ever return to Santillana Del Mar, this is where I want to stay. The location is a bit far from the center, but it is def worth the trip. Pros: Hospitality
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We needed a place convenient for the Santander - Portsmouth ferry. We were able to access the room from 1200 noon. The hotel had good parking and was only a short walk from the very beautiful town centre. The room was simple but clean and spacious with a small balcony and country views. It also included a full size bath.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: View from the room was gorgeous
Cons: Breakfast was too scanty.

Pros: The staff were extremely helpful! They even gave us ice for a rolled ankle. We had a lovely room looking out onto a paddock with cows and rolling hills. Plenty of free parking space.
Cons: A bit of difficulty connecting the the wifi from the room.

Pros: Lovely place, it is basic and simple and when you arrive you think ok there is nothing to do here . But it was lovely and peaceful and really nice pit stop . Staff were really helpful
Cons: Nothing everything was fine

Pros: This small hotel was amaaaaazing. I had stoped in so many different hotels before that were more expencive and you cant even compare. This hotel was everything and beyond. I absolutely loved it. I would have wanted to stay there longer but i was on my camino and had to move on.
Cons: Didnt excist...

6.7 Good
Pros: Nice staff.
Cons: I got a smoker room. I was not aware of that and it smelled. Dinner and breakfast were poor quality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An excellent hotel that has all you need. Staff were brilliant and excellent breakfast. Good Irish pub next door. Definitely recommend this hotel.
Cons: Nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very helpful staff and they let me put my motorcycle in the garage at no charge. There's a nice bar next door, which serves excellent food at very reasonable prices.
Cons: The bed was pretty hard, it was obviously bought with longevity rather than comfort in mind.
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly, English-speaking, staff, lovely rooms, great bathrooms and spotless On-site pub good for drinks & OK food Breakfast buffet was good value Noon checkout.
Cons: No bar in the actual hotel, you have to go to the pub for drinks, even water and coffee. Restaurant only serves a cold buffet in the evening. Spa access has to be booked, on arrival, for a time slot, we’d have preferred more flexibility.
7.5 Good
Pros: Food in the restaurant was a good standard and good value as a help yourself buffet for 15 euros. However it was a bit drab and soulless. Sadly we didn't have time to sample the Spa facilities. Nice views and sympathetic architecture although it would have been nice to have some information on the building.
Cons: Signage for the hotel could have been better as we passed it twice before spotting the signs. Four star hotels really should supply bottled water in the rooms in my opinion - especially as there were no water machines in the hotel that we could spot. Breakfast starting at 8.30 is a bit late for travellers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Junior Suite was well appointed, beds were comfortable, Staff are great.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wasn’t expecting much for the price being so close to Santander as everything else was so expensive, but it was a high class hotel, excellent facilities, even the use of the spar included in the price, staff were helpful food was too a high standard, definitely a good choice if anyone is looking at this hotel
Cons: Having to leave
6.3 Good
Pros: Very clean and comfortable. Location although a little remote great for access to Santillana and other towns in the area. There is an Irish bar next door which has reasonably priced food and drink and a burger bar a few mins walk down the road with fab views. Parking was good.
Cons: Very frustrated that hotel advertises itself as a spa hotel but with certain rooms, use of the spa must be paid for; 24 euros for 1.5hrs per person. I feel this is particularly poor as it does not state this anywhere when booking and the hotel is already expensive to stay in. We were extremely disappointed when we arrived at the spa in our robes (which are provided in the room???) only to be turned away. I would not pay this price purely for the room normally.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location with parking opposite. Very close to all attractions, staff were very helpful and friendly. Has a real authentic Spanish feel.
Cons: Would have preferred breakfast with a view but it was downstairs without windows.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fernando at the reception desk was fantastic. He was courteous and gave us valuable advise on where to go. The hotel is beautiful and has a few free parking spots in front of the hotel.
Cons: We would have liked to have a safe and small fridge in the room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I love Santillana del Mar and this hotel was in keeping with this medieval town.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property with a wonderful welcome. The building and decor is amazing and the lady at reception was so warm and welcoming, giving us an umbrella as the weather was appalling.
Cons: Parking could have been explained prior as they have spaces opposite the hotel and we should have asked to reserve one of those. Only facility in room was a TV and phone, tea, coffee, water would have been a nice addition. Bathroom stuff was provided too. No lift and no one to help with bag when with 2 small children.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, minutes walk from the village, great friendly staff. Absolutely would return
Cons: Absolutely nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully restored elegant period hotel with spacious rooms and decor consistent with the historical nature of the building
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel itself is sooo comfortable. You could walk around for hours and look at all the details. It is not over-stuffed, very nicely done. We really liked the person at checking-in and out. He was very professional and at the same time he gave us a few tips what to see on our travel’s ahead.
Cons: The only negative were the waiter and his helper at Dinner time. Maybe we weren’t formally dressed. But if you do the Camino you don’t have many choices.

7.0 Good
Pros: great location for a one night stop over before going back to Santander. functional and good value for money - only a ten minute walk to a wonderful medieval town with great restaurants. good pastries at breakfast.
Cons: no tea and coffee facilities in the room - bar closed at odd times through the day, but we did get coffee when we asked. garage parking for motorcycles offered, but the access was far too steep and slippery for heavy touring bikes.
7.1 Good
Pros: We got moved to a room with a small terrace which was much nicer
Cons: The room was very normal and next to the road. The spa should be included or at a discount for guests. The parking should be free

Cons: No footpath on part of route to Town center
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very large and modern. Lovely location with a spa and pool Short walk into town

Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The antique furniture and furnishings were like a stately home. With a fantastic collection of antique clocks around every corner.
Cons: Missed the air conditioning!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a beautiful hotel in a great location at an excellent price
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpfull. The hotel is old style, beautiful. Clean. Good location.
Cons: The window lamp was shining all the night strait to my face - there was no possibility to cover it. I felt the plastic cover under my sheet - hate that. The sleep was poor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building with furniture to match. Excellent location and parking. Very good bar
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel definitely has a historic charm, it is in an excellent location at the edge of the old centre of Santillana.
Cons: Our room was a bit disappointing on the 2nd floor, but we assume this is because we only stayed one night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was helpful and patient. It was excellent value for the money.
Cons: My view was of the back roof of the building. But wasn't there to sit in my room and stare out the window. So no big deal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 30 mins from Santander ferry, spotless rooms, helpful staff, great scenic town.
Cons: No secure parking for my bike (though it was OK) Food selection not great, evening meal lacking something here. Though not expensive to be fair
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Historic property. Stayed in attic room, which was plenty spacious, tho requires ascending a few stairs. Locked bike right across from front desk. Big attraction is location--right across from entry to old town.
Cons: Nothing, except that Santillana del Mar tends to be overrun by tourists.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location is great, right next to the pedestrian area. The common areas are interesting to look at and there is a lot of antique furniture and the building itself is clearly old but well maintained.
Cons: The family room was really just a twin room, certainly not a room with two full size doubles. The room itself was very tight and decor very worn. The bathroom was also tight.
