The location is ok
Since the moment we checked in, the receptionist was insinuating if I had weed for sale just because of my nationality; he was nice in the beginning but I think that when he saw we had no drugs for sale he changed his attitude, the beds crack terribly so it's very hard to sleep, just like many other "Hostels" in Russia, this is just a regular flat with many bunk beds trying to simulate a hostel but the atmosphere is more like there are people living at this place, the elevator is messed up since it's only for one person at the time and it doesn't seem safe at all, sometimes the receptionist or administrator is absent for hours so if you need something you have to wait a lot of time. The common area has only a small couch and 2 chairs so it's not nice for hanging out.
Besides the brilliant location was the hospitality at center hostel of a high level. The administrator made sure we had everything we needed and helped us make the most out of our stay. Even in the middle of the night he was there to meet any requests. The hostel was very clean as it was cleaned every day by a very nice cleaning lady. The overall atmosphere at the hostel was very easy going and I would highly recommend staying there if you are looking for a hostel and would like to meet new people during your stay in sint petersburg.
All the rest was good
Receptionist would be more helpful if he could speak English.
Poor facilities (no lockers, one shower to share between 5?6? rooms); generally it is not too clean. Some bedrooms don’t have a window. The staff speak only Russian so if you are not local I wouldn’t recommend since you might have difficulties with basic issues. Generally it is quite difficult to find if you don’t know where to go. There is hardly anybody present at the reception.
It was dirty and smelled bad.
