We enjoyed our stay We ate dinner here and I have to say it was the best Schnitzel of all we had in Germany and we had a lot to eat. WE had a car so the location was fine for us. The hosts were wonderful people and we really enjoyed our stay.
Everything was great.
Near the Abbey, near bus station
Ground floor, high humidity
The hotel was quiet, and had a nice view.
Upon arriving I called the hotel for directions. I was told to take a cab or ask a local. The hotel is located at least 25 minutes from town, walking up several steep hills. If you don’t have a car, walking downhill into down isn’t too bad, but returning especially at night you will need to take a cab. We are young and in shape. This especially is not a good choice for anyone who can’t handle steep hills . I prepaid breakfast and when I checked in I was told breakfast began at 8:00am. I let them know immediately Ed could not have breakfast the second morning as we had a train at 9:0O. When checking out we noticed the breakfast charge had not been removed. We were told they had already paid bookings. Hearing this, and it was 7:50 am I asked if we could quickly make something to go. Unhappily she said ok. It really would have been nice if she had offered to put together a to go box for us knowing our situation in advance.
Staffs are very friendly. Foods in restaurant is good. White wine from own wine yard is cheap and nice. Very near to tourist attraction spots.
Clean, quiet place
The guesthouse is in the distance from the town centre, in residential district, in evening there nothing to do - after 8 p.m. hotels restaurant kitchen is closed, to reach other restaurants is problem. The breakfast was poor.
Just 1.5 km from the River Rhine, this guest house is set on a vineyard overlooking the wine-growing town of Rüdesheim. Gasthof Krancher offers a traditional restaurant, wine cellar and a terrace. Family-run for 5 generations, Gasthof Krancher features classically furnished rooms. All rooms include a TV and private bathroom, and some also have views of St. Hildegard Abbey and the vineyards. Guests can enjoy a selection of regional Rhineland specialities, including vegetarian dishes. Local Riesling and Pinot Noir wines from Krancher's own vineyard can also be purchased at the on-site Vinarium wine shop. Rental bikes are available at Gasthof Krancher. It is an ideal base for visiting Rüdesheim’s Medieval Old Towne or exploring the UNESCO Middle Rhine Valley on a hiking or cycling tour. On-site parking is free at Gasthof Krancher. It is 50 minutes from central Frankfurt and a 1-hour drive from Koblenz.
