Breakfast was fair. There wasn't a variety of items to choose from. Location was fine.
It was impossible to get a taxi from the hotel. No one was ever available when they were called.
The location was convenient, the room was very clean, and most of the staff (but not all) were kind and helpful.
We stayed in a room on the top floor with the terrace, which was beautiful. The combination of hot weather and non-working air conditioner put a huge damper on our trip though. We asked reception if they could service the a/c or if we could get a fan, but they said that the a/c did work and we shouldn't expect it to be cool. I'm used to places that don't have air conditioning, but to say that the a/c works when the room temperature doesn't drop below 27C even at night, is pretty frustrating. I would caution against staying here unless you're happy waking up in a pool of your own sweat.
The location - perfect - the room - small, but all the hotels we stayed at in Italy were smaller than the U.S. ones, clean - an A+, but the staff, from front desk to breakfast young lady - A+++. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Hotel Centrale you made our trip more memorable.
not a thing
This hotel is a bit outdated and overprized. (I’m not a picky person.) We stayed one night the room with private terrace which was okay. The minibar was empty. Breakfast is nothing too fancy and there is an angry note on the wall that says ”if you are taking something from the breakfast with you, we will notify the management.” The location is right at the heart of Spagna.
Excellent location. Very professional and helpful personnel. Outstanding cleaning service (very clean rooms). Air-conditioner is superb, especially during hot days. Good wifi. It would be nice to have an electric kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, cream, glasses, and spoons in the room. On the other hand, you're in the center of the city, and there are many bars, restaurants, grocery shops, cafeterias, so you can easily buy great coffee and food in every corner. Good, fair price for the room. Breakfast is good and means something more than croissant/sweet cake and coffee. The bathroom (or to be more precise: toilet with shower, bidet, and small washbasin) is very small, but well-design.
Rooms are really small, so it is a big challenge if you are on a business trip and have to do some works in the room, for example on a laptop - it is difficult to optimize space in the room (there is no good location for laptop, even "desk" is too small, especially when you need to recharge its battery at the same time). It can be a problem for "larger people" to meet their needs with very limited space in the room and in the bathroom.
With a stay at Hotel Centrale, you'll be centrally located in Rome, steps from Via del Corso and 4 minutes by foot from Piazza del Popolo. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, limo/town car service, and a computer station.
