Great location for Rio carnival
Was there a week and didn’t clean room
the staff and the position
the air conditioning was old, very noisy and the knobs were broken. the speed could not be changed. it was positioned at the head of the bed, so all the air came directly to the face all the time
Nice location, friendly and accommodating staff. Great water pressure in the shower and separate and functioning hot and cold taps made for great ease of temperature selection.
The mattress is old and the leather/plastic covering has torn in many places and due to age has become sharp and noticeable even with two bedsheets on. 14 reals for a toasted cheese and ham sandwich is more than I am willing to pay for breakfast, specifically given that there are lots of great little cafes within walking distance. Also, they do not offer coffee on the menu...
I liked that room menu included food, drink, alcohol, and some small essential items were available on demand for a fee. The staff were very accommodating during the day and night. They helped with no lip service whenever we asked for a cleaning, for new bathroom supplies, or food during the night. They allowed us to pay with credit card. Air Conditioning unit worked perfectly. TV worked fine, although with limited channels and no dual language support. Light options were great. Electronic room features were accessible in bed. Telephone worked great and the front desk staff were always available. Shower worked great, although the head wasn't detachable and could be rotated. Had good closet space. Room provided a desk, chair, and electronic outlet for work. Underneath the bed was mostly blocked by the bed unit, making it easy to check for dropped items. I'd like to say thank you to everyone there that made my stay as enjoyable as it could be. Food prepared was well done and any substitutions asked were made with a smile. Cleaning service was very well done and I never had an issue with lost or missing items. Front desk staff were always available by phone, and were spoken to in Portuguese.
The room I was in was all the way at the top and there were no elevators to take me or the luggage there. The staff were friendly enough to help with the luggage but I imagine older people or those in a less healthy position may not be able to handle it. This is something that should be noted on booking.com or by email before arriving as it may make a difference to someone. We didn't expect to see only stairs and were surprised when we got there from the airport with heavy suitcases. Part of booking the room included WiFi. Although WiFi was provided, it was cutting in and out, giving us the impression that the WiFi signal was weak or that there was a problem with the WiFi hardware or our devices. I stayed there for two weeks and would have suffered if my partner didn't have a good cellular connection to the internet. Nothing was provided about the local neighborhood or local attractions or seasonal attractions, in Portuguese or English, leaving us to randomly check online or stroll for things to do or eat. The WiFi at the hotel didn't work at times. We ended up having some local favorites we got to know by foot but it would have been nice to see some suggestions, or at least know what the locals did in the area or at that time. Rock in Rio was happening at that time as well but no one notified us. We didn't have a bad time but it would have been nice to see a little local assistance, given our stay was long. The room beds seemed best for a quick stay. However, I was there for about 16 nights or so. My partner and I started to feel body muscle pains and we were dreaming for a better bed by the end of the stay. We didn't say anything to the staff but it would have been nice to be offered a better bed unit based on our length of stay. The bed had a nightstand or small table on both sides of the bed but there was no outlet that was close. The electronic devices nearby were supplied power through cables that came in through a hole in the wall.
We were given clean sheets and towels everyday. The built-in radio was awesome. Affordable
The mattress wasn’t the most comfortable. Considering it’s an adult hotel it’s understandable
