Nice location, Good bus connections. Breakfast buffet included with the room was good.
A resort that has seen better days. Staff not particularly helpful. Felt like the resort "nickel and dimed" us. Pay for local calls -- nowhere else we stayed did that. The general internet service on the island was not available and instead they wanted a $20 payment to get on their proprietary system. The room was old and only partially renovated.
Table tennis in games room, outdoor dining area
Not so much the property, mainly the unfriendly staff both in the bar, waitress and reception staff. Before we visited Raro, which was our first trip, we were told the people were friendly. We found the locals walking on the street more friendly than the resort staff. Perhaps it was the inclement weather this time of the year
Great location, clean and well presented.
At the time of our stay there was loads of construction work going on (which they failed to communicate with us prior to our stay), renovations in the block behind us meant from early morning until evening we could hear banging and drilling (and the dust was pretty bad), fortunately after a few disrupted days we voiced our disappointment and we were quickly moved to another room. Upgrade work was also happening opposite the pool/bar area/beach front area, which revoked previous access to the beach, and again was very noisy (especially when you are going away for a relaxing, peaceful break) this was also annoying when trying to sit and have lunch/conversation when all we could hear was construction work, and instead of admiring sea views we instead were faced with diggers and trucks! It would have been appropriate if the hotel had communicated all of this work with us prior to our booking (we would have chosen another resort during this time). There has also been a change in management since last year, this has had a visible effect on the atmosphere around the resort, many staff seemed unhappy and disconnected. A few of the reception staff, and a certain security staff member also need to work on their customer service skills, as they were often rude and unfriendly. It definitely had lost some of the zest that we previously experienced there. The house keeping staff were amazing, friendly, welcoming and are a real asset to Edgewater, as too are many of the staff working in/around the restaurant/bar. The Island Night with buffet was excellent and great value for money. Overall the Edgewater is in a fab location, the resort is clean/tidy and it felt very safe.
The staff was great. As gluten intolerant i can eat small amount of gluten without being sick. Every dinner the waitress was asking the ingredients to the chef so i can have a bit more variety in my meal. Always helpful We had a massage and a pedicure. Both were great!! They use pure fiji product that let your skin soft and hydrated. Our stay was good but easy little fix can be done to blow people away. The service, location and prices were the plus of our stay
There were works ongoing in a building behind ours during our stay, early drill noises The pool is really small for such a big resort, it was always busy. Sadly the gluten free menu consist of only 4 different meals and no fresh dessert apart from ice cream. The resort and the rooms are clean but need some updates.
Rooms were clean. Fresh, good quality sheets and towels. Awesome snorkeling right at our door. Beach was so beautiful. The staff were all amazing and friendly my baby loved all the ladies there and they loved her back. The kids club was great for my big girl when baby had naps. Had everything you need we didn’t even need to leave the resort if we didn’t want to. Best holiday ever we will definitely be back.
Loved it all.
