Staff is very good and friendly.
Staff were brilliant, everyone was super friendly. It was actually the manager who checked me in & when he saw it was my birthday the day before, he gave me a voucher for free breakfast for the duration of my stay. Fantastic location - Porto was pretty small but you never felt far from the hostel because it was just so close to everything. Highly recommend the port wine tour through Porto Walkers (hostel will organise) - you get soo much wine for what you pay for it. Hotels dinner every night - only €10 for a 3 course meal & unlimited beer, or sangria. I met some great people through this & we all did the walking & wine tours together the next day. Walking tour was also great - also run by Porto Walkers who pick you up from the hostel. Not only were these female dorms, but they were separated into a female section on the floor too, which meant there was a separate female bathroom. Also doors were nice & quiet to open & close - no slamming. Bathroom towels were nice & large. Beds had curtains, shelf & light & PowerPoint.
The main lighting in the rooms was very dull - this would be my only improvement.
Breakfast at €2 was so plentiful, staff are outstanding....
‘‘This was my first ever stay at a hostel. I was at the start of my Camino. I am 59 and felt very welcome. It was a perfect start I might add! The location was excellent for the walk to Matosinhos. The staff went above and beyond. The tours with Porto Walkers that they recommended were worth every penny. Thank you again!
