The front desk staff was less than helpful. The room was barebones, I’ve seen rooms more stocked at airbnb. Staff could have been more empathetic to requests and given some effort to fulfill them.

Pros (+) Service was excellent as you would expect from DoubleTree and the location and transportation options to and from the hotel and around Portland were perfect as I had things to do all over the city including outside of downtown, so this was very centrally located. Bed was comfortable and the hotel itself is a nice facility.
Cons (-) Rooms and building are old and outdated. The bathroom was tiny and tight and old and felt icky (note - it was very clean but it was so dated that it just felt gross). The bathroom was wedged in the corner and the toilet pretty much up against the wall. Wished there would have been a small refrigerator. Also disappointed with the small coffee service near the elevator - boasts Portland Roasting Co ...

Pros (+) Friendly staff and the warm cookie checking in was an unexpected perk. The location was also perfect and the room was very clean. Especially liked the bathroom
Cons (-) Outdoor pool area so it was closed for the season. Since it is Portland its probably closed most of the year. No real perks for staying there. Had to pay for parking still, no complimentary breakfast or even a simple pastry. If I wasnt on business I'd probably stay elsewhere.

Cons (-) Rodnets in the area, found hair all over my room, cleanliness is very poor and room was very noisy and fun down. Expected a lot more honestly for the price I paid.

Pros (+) I enjoyed the friendly staff, and I also enjoyed the location! It's right in the middle of everything. I didn't try any of their restaurants but they are all places I would have considered if I had a bit bigger of a budget.
Cons (-) There was alarms set off accidentally during my stay. Was inconvenient to leave my room when I was resting, but other than that it was good.

Cons (-) Convention going on of young adults no longer with addictions. It was like walking through a lobby of street kids. Lots of people smoking right outside of the door. Loud music. Not the ideal group that the hotel should be hosting. Made me feel very uncomfortable and not safe.

Pros (+) Hotel room was clean, bathroom was a good size.
Cons (-) Never got the cookies when I checked in....kinda sucked. Bath tub was a little old looking. Location wasn't great if you're looking to do downtown portland.
