The family section was far away from beach access. Traveling with kids is hard but being so far away from the beach and family pool was very inconvenient. The carts that take you down to the beach would always fill up fast leaving us waiting for 30 min for a ride most of the time!

Location was good, 15 min. by taxi to the Center of town ( Mex$ 120.00). The beach was Paradise! The beach towels very clean and always felt just out of the dryer!! The food offerings at the buffet, the quality and variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent. The dessert's table were very much the same every day though! All the bathrooms, at any location and time of the day, were perfectly clean and well stocked with toilet paper and air dryers. The Spa services were very good. I had a facial and a pedicure, both persons in charged were excellent! Good shower and number of towels left for the guests, even washcloths that it is not common in Mexico. Comfortable bed/pillows and clean, crispy sheets.

The Internet access and wifi was very bad!! Had to go to the Meeting Point for help to connect and it did not last long. In the bedrooms was specially bad. On the beach, though, in general was a lot better. Another annoying issue, ONLY THREE OUTLETS in the whole room (one for the coffee maker, one in the bathroom and one next to the bed! The Electricity wiring of that place is the most inconvenient. The bedroom was VERY POORLY lit. Light's switches: one ONLY on ONE SIDE of the bed for the whole room (the other side of the bed had none)!! One at the entrance for the whole room; one outside the bathroom for the bathroom and one inside the bathroom for light in the shower and fan. No INDIVIDUAL lights by the bed, or anywhere else, to read. No chair at the desk. The bathroom was very dated and the amenities very poor.

Pay the extra, stay in adults only. Adults only breakfast venue, premier club access,, quietness and location near beach and pool were worth it. Some of the entertainment was really good. Specialty dining was great. Staff was very helpful and really went out of their way to help. If all you want to do is eat, drink, and lay by the pool or on the beach, you will really enjoy it. Going to town, 5th ave, to shop, a $6, cab ride. Pay in pesos, everything is cheaper.

Waiting over an hour to check in, waiting a half hour to check out, no brewed decaf on site, no alcohol free beer, no coffee at 0600. Musty smell in room, beware if you have mold allergies. Small room. You had to be a detective to find out what was going on such as options for catamaran rental, ceramics, use of hydrotherapy facilities in gym, use of Premier club (didn't find out until the 3rd day we were entitled to use it). Poor communication at check in, and throughout stay as to what was going on. Felt like there was really no one at the resort in charge making sure things went smoothly (other than a daily call about going on the vacation club tour).

Nothing. Location ok but far away from town. Many private pools closed. Family pool furthest away from main buildings and not at all stroller friendly. Also, unless Royal Elite your place in sun will be dirty, uncomfortable and far away from the beach. That’s very best and kindest I can say of this so called family friendly resort.

Horrible customer service. Take our advice and save your money and go elsewhere. Standing out was Jorge and Nicole at Guest Services who when approached gave WORST guest service we have ever experienced (and we are frequent travelers). None of them should even work with guests or in the hospitality industry. Jorge was aggressive, confrontational and threatened us not to mention both were incredibly rude and no one was remotely interested in helping us at all. Housekeeping lost my little girls favorite teddy bear with no follow up or even a decent apology offered to us. Unless you are a Royal Elite Club member or if you have no standards at all (or if you’re completely drunk for the duration of your stay) simply save your hard earned money and go to a much more customer service oriented, friendly and more personalized resort. No one cares and no one listens to you. What an utter disappointment. Would not even go back if they offered us a free stay whatever length. Wedding every night outside our window (and we were not only ones) with incredibly loud music to late at night (cash cow for resort) and therefore my family wasn’t able to sleep at all. When asked if we could change rooms told that’s not an option as resort is full. Just horrible all together. Thank God our holidays didn’t just consist of this awful resort. Mexico is such an amazing country so don’t waste time and money going to Sandos Playacar. We went to Cozumel for the day just to escape this appalling place and staff which was amazing. Shows were ok. Restaurants were simply overcrowded with ridiculous wait due to being grossly understaffed. Food very average. Even at check in when asked staff to give us a nice room reply was “you get what you pay for “ and “the more you pay the nicer room you get” bearing in mind we were not paying cheapest room or rate. Her comment sums it up perfectly and displays staff appalling attitude towards its paying guests. Total waste of time and money.

A la card restaurant. Very, very helpfull and friendly stuff!

Annoying birds at the beach. They steal the food (and stupied people feed them). Loud neighbors :(
