Throughout our trip we had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the resort, all of which were amazing. I was also pleasantly surprised at how clean the beach was - no seaweed on the shore!
The lobster on the lobster night dinner had a bit of an odd taste to it. I think it was overcooked and over salted.
Amazing facilities, we spend most of our time at the beach pool which provided an amazing view and allowed us to keep away from all the hassling. We enjoyed the graden view Palapa very much, it was a cool experience and overall provided peace and privacy. Staff was always friendly and helpful. We were greeted with a hand-made gift for our anniversary, and surprised with chocolate one day. Breakfast was great with a nice selections and a stand with freshly made daily specials. It's held at the restaurant near the beach pool, so the view was a nice additions. We also ate a couple of times at the Fuego, which was always good and they make the best Mojito. We also spend a lot of time at the bar playing pool, a cool option for a rainy evening. The location is just near the south end of the 5th, so close to the action but nice and quite, which we liked. Beds were super comfy and I slept like a baby.
Water pressure in the shower is horrible. It's the worst we ever encountered in our travels. It's on the verge of unusable. We complained once, and someone arrived and fussed around with it, which was of little help. There seemed to be extra mosquitoes at the hotel, perhaps because of the vegetation? I mean there are many mosquitoes in Mexico, but there were even more somehow. And I was missing a coffee machine and a minibar at the room, a mild inconvenience.
Beautiful property, well kept. Looked like a tropical paradise. The palapas were very nice
The only negative we have to say is we went the end of Sept and it’s apparently rainy season and there were swarms of mosquitos everywhere, making us very uncomfortable. The mosquitos were quite aggressive and we got many bites everyday
Everything was perfect ! Our private beach, food, pools. And stuff was so nice ! Iam sure I’ll come back to Mahekal
Everything is great!

The rooms themselves have primarily the same accommodations, the main differences are the views offered by each one. Guests who want views of the water will want an Oceanfront room, while those wanting to enjoy the lush gardens should book the Treehouse King, with the largest view of Mahekal expansive tropical gardens.
Hungry guests will have plenty of dining options to choose from. There are six full-sized restaurants available, as well as in-room dining for visitors who would rather enjoy their meals in the comfort of their suites. A few of the on-site restaurants include Cocina Restaurant, which offers visitors a buffet of regional Mexican, Yucatan, and Latin American dishes. There is also Las Olas, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with nightly specials and international fare.
