Breakfast of a suitable standard, but very slow service. Wonderful location, some exception staff but not all Fine Dining experiencing with wine flight, one of the best we have ever had.
Bar service could have been quicker, very slow at times. Avoid staying when a wedding is booked during the summer months, as they take priority to outside sitting area over hotel guests. Ceiling light over the bed which gives direction in event of fire, but i mean shining right down over the edge of bed, and during the night, you needed an eye mask to get some sleep! Hotel did provide one :) Beware of the optional 10% service charge applied to everything in the hotel.
The spa and the treatments were excellent. The room was very spacious
No mini bar Afternoon tea took rather a long time
Everything especially the staff and cleanliness.
All staff were very welcoming and helpful and the hotel is set in lovely grounds overlooking the loch.A pleasant 10min walk into Pitlochry over the dam and fish ladder.
Minor issue about bread not being warm when served in the signature restaurant~ obviously taken from freezer or chiller and then warmed. However, was changed quickly.
Fonab castle is situated on the edge of Loch Faskally. There are some lovely gentle walks as well as a long trek to Ben Varakie. A 10 minute walk over the power station dam which makes it easy to get o to the town. All staff were friendly and helpful.
