Staff was very friendly. Location was great with a nice feel to it. Room was actually a really nice room, different kind of feel to your usual type of room. Definitely wouldve rated the room way higher if I wasnt so put off by those spider webs
Place wasnt cleaned very well. Not the greatest feeling to come to a room and see spider webs on the corners... makes you wonder when last was the place properly cleaned. Breakfast wasnt great either. Very oily bacon
The view outside is beautiful and the bar is nice.
The rooms that we were in was not like they portray it to be on their website. Our room had a dirty carpet. We had no towels in our room. We had to borrow from the couple that was with us that stayed in the other room. I found two bed bugs, one on my pillow and one coming from behind the bed. We expected to at least have a peaceful sleep after a long day. We could only sleep for an hour and awoke by the noise on the roof. Animals fighting on the rooftop and stuff constantly running up and down in the ceiling from the one side to the other. For whatever it was,it sounded like a lot of them running around in the ceiling and it occurred on both nights that we were there. I was so tired that I didn't even bother to have their complimentary breakfast at my stay. This was sapposed to be a relaxing weekend and a nice surprise for the couple that has never been in the Western Cape before. Out of all the places that we've been at, this is the worst place that I stayed at and regret taking these people to this place for their first time experience.
Staff were friendly and did their best to make us feel comfortable despite the conditions of the property, considering that the estate is under new ownership. It was good to see a few animals and a few grape vines on the property which gave it a rustic farm feel.
Rooms were old and not sparkling clean. Cheap and low standard of room refreshments and toiletries. Pool was not cleaned regularly. The walkway to the rooms are old and have caved in. Images on the actual website is very misleading and I would suggest that the new owners consider updating the property and their website.
Le Bac estates is very well situated. It is close to both Wellington and Paarl. There is safe undercover parking. I liked the horses and Al Pacas that were wondering around when we arrived. We ordered a pizza the 2nd night which was very nice.
There were two bottles of body lotion but no soap when we arrived. There was also only 2 little milk triangles for coffee for two guests. After I brought this to their attention both were provided. The same with the flat aircon remote. It was like their is no attention to detail and checking that everything is working before a guest arrives. The wifi was so slow the first night we couldn't use it. The carpet could also do with a clean. There was a blocked drain the first day near the breakfast room which resulted in a very unpleasant smell while we were eating. Fortunately this was fixed the next day.
The property was amazing and staff very friendly.
Granted it was new years eve, there was just a hit and miss regarding communication.
