This hotel is clearly a labour of love for the owners. It is family run and you really feel welcome when you arrive. The owner showed us around the facilities (which very often does not happen) and explained where everything is. There is a spa area which includes a sauna and relaxation room with incredible views over the Alps. Room has a balcony where you can sit and also take in the views. Whilst we were sat on the balcony we were greeted by a stunning double rainbow, which made the stay even better! Breakfast here, whilst charged extra, is phenomenal and well worth the extra, with a range of fresh breads, boiled eggs (with faces on!) and many many more items. They I would highly recommend this gem of a hotel to anyone travelling in the local area.

More people should use the spa - we were the only people using it and it really should be utilised by more people.

There is a lovely dining room, bar area (honesty system later on) and balcony with super views over the valley and distant mountains. It's a very easy hotel to relax in. We were warmly welcomed even though we arrived very early and the boss helped with our next booking. Responses to my email in my very bad German were quick and helpful. Do stay here for a few days. Oberstaufen is a pretty village.

Few guests eat in the restaurant in the evening where only a set menu, ordered before mid afternoon, is offered. And I don't think it is good value. It's over a km downhill to the town.

Perfect view and very large and comfortable room.
