Hotel Arnika

I arrived to the Arnica Hotel in Oberammergau in February. This was the most unpleasant experience with the accommodation that I have ever had. The same night I arrived bed bugs came out and bit me when I was sleeping. I woke up terrified and there was no one at the reception and no phone contact to tell somebody about the situation. I spent the whole night on an armchair. In the morning I reported what had happened to the lady at the reception showing her pictures of bugs which I had taken during the night. I cannot convey strongly enough how rude the staff was. I was told that probably it was my fault and I brought bed bugs in my suitcase. The lady told me that she didn’t have any other rooms available but she could spray the room with some anti-insect product. I didn’t agree on that and I asked to give my money back (I paid in advance for the whole week). The lady refused and shouted at me as well as she refused to give me any contact information to her manager. I was told to leave the hotel and come back in the evening. After a very strong and long argument the staff finally returned my money for future nights and told me to leave the hotel immediately. To sum up the hotel Arnica takes advantage of its location which is close to the NATO School and they know that new people/students rotation let them run a business in a poor way as they do it now. However I hope that at least some people will read the review and make another choice.
