Pros: The breakfasts were awesome! Most importantly, the staff was incredibly helpful and kind, especially Daniel.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing staff - Daniel, Carlos and all the girls are super friendly and nice. Daniel also gave us detailed information on what to do/what no to do in Oaxaca based on our personal preferences and available time. The breakfasts were incredibly tasty and different every day, allowing you to explore several Mexican dishes. The patio and kitchen area are lovely and nicely decorated, available for use throughout the day. There is a very good vibe in the property and guests can mingle with each other and with the owners.
Good 7.5
Pros: Manager Daniel was fun and great at helping us enjoy Oaxaca. We lovef all staff: Juanita, the Rositas, Patricia, Lorena, Guadalupe...wonderful women who fed us well and kept La Betulia sparkling.
Cons: Everything was great including fresh flowers in our pretty room.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The was a beautiful little tucked away b&b. The rooms we were clean and spacious and thoughtfully laid out. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. Daniel the manager was very helpful and friendly to us.
Cons: The internet was quite slow. Nothing else!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was wonderful and accommodating when one of our party became ill and we needed to extend our stay. The plaza area with the pool is beautiful and relaxing, as are the rooms with a balcony.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfasts inventive and filling. All staff charming and helpful. The whole place is well designed and comfortable. I liked the neighborhood.
Cons: I was completely happy. There were barking dogs and roosters, nice soy d's in a city.
Excellent 9.6
Cons: Breakfast could be a bit richer in possibilities
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hospitality exceeded all of my expectations! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and the rooms were lovely.
Cons: It was difficult as spoiled Americans to sleep at night without air conditioning, but I think that was also reflected in the price and they provided a nice fan
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Location was a bit out of the way but still close to downtown.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The employees are friendly, the property is clean and the breakfast was great.

Excellent 9.6
Pros: I looked at a lot of other hotels before I booked, and I saw many of them in person after we arrived, and I’m so glad I chose Quinta Real Oaxaca. The best hotel in the city. Location is absolutely perfect, in the most upscale and boutique area, yet very close to all the more crowded and noisy touristic areas. Room size (208) was just fine, with a gorgeous window that opened to a little plaza across the street. There is very little noise because we had interior wooden shutters, gorgeous wooden windows, and then a modern window on the exterior of the building. Breakfast buffet was delicious, and the folkloric dance show was a highlight. Nice selection of toiletries and wonderful housekeeping and bellhops.
Cons: It was absolutely perfect.

Pros: There are 2 markets very close to the hotel which was great! The street the hotel is on is very nice and made for a nice walk.
Cons: The only thing was the light that came through the window at night. The main light was turned off around 10:30pm or so, but even after that light was off, the light from the city or moon came through the window. I didn’t mind so much but my husband couldn’t sleep well. Maybe a curtain would solve the problem.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: I would recommend this boutique hotel to anyone. I traveled alone and the staff was so helpful in suggesting a driver to me who could take me to multiple sites. They were friendly and helpful about everything, down to the regular staff -- always pleasant and charming. There were always people washing down the steps and tiles. The place is spotless and absolutely charming. Chirping birds in hanging birdcages, a lovely courtyard with trees and tables, a small restaurant where I could get dinner if I didn't want to be out late in the City. Perfectly located just 1/2 block from the main square and walking distance to everything in central City. They made my stay there so easy and pleasant. I would go back there again and recommend them to everyone.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Beautiful decore. Located near all the happenings. Got us a taxi when needed. Birds are great! Never bothered us at sleeping time, and entertained us during the day.
Cons: The sink stopper was not properly adjusted, but we made it work. No drawers for your underwear, but two small shelves could be used. We got a King size bed that nearly took the whole room. In the US you could get a larger room with King Size bed in a good location for the same price, therefore making the room in Mexico a bit pricy.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Especqially liked the staff service...our room cleaner, all the restaurant staff, hotel janitors, etc. Haydee, our roomcleaner, made hilarious towel animals i have sent pictures of to friends. EVeryone was courteous and smiles. We felt at home. food was delicious too.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Location. A couple of the Managers were nice and helpful. Small boutique hotel.
Cons: Breakfast was not that good and twice they didn't have basics like eggs, etc. Tiny bathroom. Hit my head on a hanging shelf. Workers hammered and sawed at night despite our request to Management to handle. Did give 25% off for that one night.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: All the employees were very friendly and helpful. The room was decorated nicely and the bed was extremely comfortable. The entire hotel was immaculately clean. I would definitely go back. I totally recommend it.
Cons: The shower could have a little more pressure.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was amazing and provided me with phenomenal recommendations.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: charming ambiance, comfy beds and very nice, super friendly staff. Bonus for a very good restaurant. Great neighborhood, walk in distance to best restaurants.
Cons: nothing
Excellent 9.6
Pros: This is a late colonial bldg with about 22 rooms. The staff was gracious, friendly and helpful. I expect to stay here again on my next visit to Oaxaca.
Cons: It is a bit noisy but anyplace in the Centro historico will be noisy. The nights were quiet however.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This was a lovely and charming hotel, extremely well located, beautifully appointed rooms, wonderful ambiance and with a great restaurant. The staff was very attentive and helpful, the restaurant service and food were excellent, the room very comfortable with 2 queen beds a good size bathroom, a nice sitting area and quiet at night.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Air conditioning in the rooms works really well. Loved the decor and all the birds in cages throughout the hotel. Restaurant is very good. Very comfortable and secure hotel. Close to the zocalo.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything about the hotel was great. Location was perfect, only a couple blocks from the Zocalo, Very clean and quiet. Bathroom was huge.

Excellent 8.3
Pros: This hotel is an oasis. So quiet. Front door staff very friendly and helpful. Thank you Mirelle and Ana. The rooms are spacious and cool. The beds may be a little hard for some people. The rooms are spotless and the garden well maintained. Our room was at the back and it was so quiet. The air conditioner wasn’t fantastic. Breakfast was not included but really good value. Fabulous juices and fruit and delicious carrot cake. Good coffee machine
Cons: A big negative for me was no fridge to keep water cool. I bought wine and the staff was very happy to keep it in the fridge for me. Would be nice if there was a small pool to cool down.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: This is an exceptional hotel in a decent neighborhood a short walk to the main square and many of the main tourist sites. I personally liked it because it wasn't right in the middle of the (noisy) tourist area. The rooms are large and simply but nicely appointed. They face one of two courtyards. Breakfasts are made to order and quite good. Very friendly staff.
Good 7.5
Pros: The property was very new, pretty and the courtyard for breakfast was just beautiful to sit in. Food was also incredible. Very modern with lovely artistic touches. Room was comfortable and I did enjoy my stay.
Cons: I was a little disappointed that the property had no real atmosphere at all. Staff were very quiet but friendly. Only saw another guest once. Feels rather segregated. My room had very little natural light available to it and the bathroom had no ventilation. Which will probably become and issue in time.
Good 7.5
Pros: Stayed there 5 nights. Easy to walk to centro. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, Dining room was light and airy. The desk staff and dining room staff were friendly and very helpful. The open terrace in the middle was peaceful and relaxing.
Cons: Even though the bedroom was tucked away in a back corner of the property, it was still noisy at night due to barking dogs. Not their fault, but not very restful. Mosquitos everywhere, no hot water the first couple of days, but they quickly remedied the problem each time. Extremely weak internet signal in the bedroom, even when we switched to a different room. They said there was nothing they could do about it.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Zen quality amazing breakfast
Cons: It was perfect
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Awesome breakfast, great service.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Great food service environment quiet except neighbor dogs
Cons: Tiny tiny bathroom. Limited hot water. Sewer gas smell in shower. Learned to cover up drain with bath mat.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The breakfasts were wonderful...variety and well prepared- a treat each morning on what to select.
Cons: No amenities....no ability to store beverages in the room or have food available other hours than morning.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Seriously a very nice hotel in a quiet location just next to the centre. The staff were very kind and the breakfast was amazing! Highly recommended especially if you are traveling as a couple.
Cons: The hot water took a bit of time to warm up
Okay 5.4
Pros: Very good breakfast, good size room, good shower. Easy to get to city centre.
Cons: Found a cockroach in my room, which wasn’t great. Aircon also didn’t work properly, despite the receptionist insisting it did. Some loud crashing around first thing, so don’t plan on a lie-in either.

Pros: Best breakfast i've had in a hostel! Everybody very nice and willing to help with all your questions. Very clean and nicely decorated. The bar is also a cool place to hang out. Will definitely go back!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: What a gem! The hostel is very clean, the staff is great (thank you Mario!) and the beds are comfy. The hostel is sociable and fun but quiet at 11, which I loved :) Would absolutely recommend and would stay here again!
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Good breakfast, cosy hostel. A bit out of the center but okay as to walking distance. The garden and rooftop bar are a great way to meet new people. Clean hostel. Would definitely stay again!
Cons: The lockers in the room are a bit small and inconvenient. Maybe put in some dividers so you can arrange your valuables, or have bigger lockers.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Great breakfast different everyday, great location away from the crowds but not too far from the main sites.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly staff, amazing chilled out hostel, comfortable and clean bedroom, close proximity to town, really nice vibe about the place and cheap little bar for a night cap Would love to stay again
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very friendly staff, a lot of respect. I travelled with my bike and everything was excellent. Definitely I’ll come back.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Really bright and friendly space. Private rooms are amazing
Cons: Internet went down a bit and was a bit of a walk to the Zócalo
Good 7.9
Pros: Cute common area and an overall nice youth hostel.
Cons: It is somewhat far from the things to do.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The vibe, the food, the people (both staff and guests), the location: everything was perfect! Genuinely the very best hostel I stayed at during my 1,5 month trip through South and Central America. Azul Cielo really is one of a kind and you’re guaranteed to have an unforgettable time here. There’s no better place to stay on Oaxaca and if you have the time, definitely take the cooking class.
Cons: The fact that I had to leave

Pros: Very clean and quiet. Nice breakfast area with simple but wholesome continental breakfast. Short walk to the main plaza. Close to the bus terminal.
Cons: The beds were clean, but very old and basic. Perhaps a pillow top upgrade can fix that. Also, breakfast was advertised at 7:30 a.m. However, coffee and other items were not completely ready until 8:00 a.m.
Good 7.9
Pros: The hotel nice and quite..
Cons: In boking you get one price and when you arrive to the hotel the ask me to pay on one more kids. I didnt pay but its was very not good way for me to start the vication.. The location is allitle bit far feon the cantro.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: all the front desk staff are amazing and helpful!
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Although the Wi-Fi didn't work in our room, the staff took around 15% of the price off when paying, which I thought was very fair. It was quieter than I expected, given that there is a box-style gym next door and we went at the height of the Day of the Dead celebrations!
Cons: Wi-fi, and maybe something warm for breakfast? More fruit too?
Good 7.1
Pros: The location was great, not to close and not to far. It was clean. It's ok for a short stay.
Cons: An AC is almost must in this Hotel...it was always solo warm. The ventilator was working but it was very loud and made a clicking noise so it was really hard to fall asleep with it.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: breakfast was fair great location staff are friendly very clean lovely patio,
Cons: there is no hot shower,,,
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Central location, friendly staff. Simple room good value for money. Breakfast included!! Wifi good
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful. They were able to arrange a taxi service for us for an early morning flight which was extremely helpful for us.
Cons: Our flight was so early we weren't able to take advantage of the breakfast service.
Good 7.5
Pros: Pleasant atmosphere
Cons: Could have had some fruit for continental breakfast not so much bread

Pros: The overall installations of the hotel are pleasant. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. The location is easy accessible, located on an well connected avenue.
Cons: Some minor details in the maintenance of the room. For example there was some rust on the bathroom. And the drawers in the room were poorly adjusted making them hard to open and close. The AC was a bit too loud.
Okay 4.6
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Requested an additional bath towel as we pay for 3 guests and had to call multiple times to get it. Asked the front desk for a closer room, after he offered one on the third floor, as my mother in law could walk due to her hip and we got a room on the first floor on the opposite side of the hotel Walls are very thin, woke up at 7 am to kids jumping and making noise from the room upstairs
Good 7.5
Pros: Great pool Friendly staff Amazing food
Cons: Far from downtown not a lot to do around the hotel itself but they do have a free shuttle bus
Excellent 10.0
Cons: the water in the bathtub smelled very bad, could not use it.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: The breakfast was excellent.
Good 7.5
Pros: The staff was very friendly! I loved the pool and the restaurant was pretty decent as well.
Cons: Unfortunately, I was locked out of the premises one night. I got in, but not how one would like to get onto the premises. It was pretty late but not crazy enough for there to be no staff, who I found sleeping on the couch in the lobby.
Good 7.1
Pros: Lovely hotel with pool but on a really busy road on the edge of town.
Cons: Traffic noise was constant and air quality dreadful.
Okay 5.8
Cons: The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and the staff at the restaurant was very rude. They have no customer service skills whatsoever

Pros: Check in and staff was good. They had safe luggage storage and check out day is free. Breakfast was good, they make eggs for you, cereal and fruit are also available
Cons: Bed was not comfortable. Bed linens were not fitted for the bed. Bathroom water pressure needs to be improved. Credit card machine worked after the 4th try at different times which was annoying.
Good 6.3
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: It’s not a comfortable place and there is a very stingy vibe around the place. Like having a lock and pay per play for the foosball table. It feels like nickle and diming. Also, when I ran out of pesos I asked if I could pay for the room with my card and have the cash I originally used returned so I could buy things and eat. The lady running the hostel said no because she just didn’t want to. No other reason
Good 7.1
Pros: It is basic but good a bed and a shower. The staff don’t speak English but friendly and got there with google translate.
Cons: Space no bunk beds nice shower
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location, super friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, great Breakfast.
Good 6.3
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful even with communication barrier. I liked that the front door was locked. Nice simple breakfast. Cheap price.
Cons: Location not great - many other better options closer to restaurants, zocalo, etc. Noisy from other guests. The room was a bit stuffy - not enough fresh air. Shower water pressure very weak - could not wash my hair.
Okay 5.8
Pros: The breakfast is good
Cons: Not super clean. The shower and toilets outside could be better ! The room is very small and smelly !
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, beautiful building and good breakfast (actually enough food to call it breakfast), and comfortable bed. Awesome socializing spaces on the roof, at the dining area, and other spaces with couches and games. Fantastic and large kitchen. BUT, there were not many people here when I stayed and I had the dorm room all for myself. However, I can see the inconveniences with the restrooms/showers and noise from the community space mentioned by other reviewers. With that said, my experience was great!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Great location, friendly staff. Broken shower head? Fixed the same day.
Good 6.7
Pros: The location and the value for money!
Cons: Not super comfortable and the staff not super knowledgeable!by chance...not friendly, open and willing to share Customers...all with one specific focus...quite frustrating!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice place overall. Lots of outdoor seating areas. They let you borrow bikes to bike around the city for free. The staff were really nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. The room was clean and even had a lockable locker for your stuff.
Cons: The shower was filthy. It really needed a good cleaning. The light switch needs repair and was flickering as I turned it on. The room did not have AC but did have a working fan, which is to be expected at this price point.
Okay 4.6
Pros: Dorm was nicer than the private despite the fact I paid for the private as they would not give me the money back. Location fine.
Cons: I showed them the bites from the bed bugs that I received within 20mins of lying on the bed. The man moved me rooms to a dorm but when I asked for the money back he refused to accept that these were bed bugs and refused to give me the money unless I cancelled my booking - thus disallowing me to write a review. He was so rude to me and seemed to suggest that I was lying about the bites despite the fact I had shown him them. Made sense that he wouldn't want me to write this up seeing as they have such good reviews despite being so unclean and dingy and dark. One sink to be shared between about 20 people. Two toilets for the same. Needs repainting. Staff rude.

Pros: It was close the zócalo I could go walking
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Room was clean, comfy bed.
Cons: Only two things I didn’t like, 1. The glass bottle I had was dirty so obliviously I didn’t drink it. 2. I wanted to iron my shirt so I went to the lobby the lady told me to hand my shirt to the cleaning lady, so I went back up to give my shirt to the cleaning lady and she told me I had to give my shirt to the lady in the lobby. So no one knew what to do so I decided to buy a new shirt instead of wearing my wrinkle shirt...this was my second time staying here I’ll stay again only because the staff are super nice and rooms are pretty clean!
Okay 5.7

Pros: Location... Location.. Customer service!! Very clean!!
Cons: The air conditioning unit in room did not work but Had cool breeze from open window and wall fan!! Although I did Not report it first day... It got hotter last 2 days. Also my room was close to at times restaurant loud music . Otherwise very good I would repeat staying but will check room first. Has elevator!
Good 6.3
Cons: You have to give your room key everytime you leave the hotel and then the front desk guy gives out your key to anyone who says the room number. NO NAMES OR IDs asked even when they don’t know who’s staying in the room. Also, beds are very uncomfortable and room lighting is sad

Pros: Location: it is in front of the 20 Nov market, 3 blocks from the Zocalo. Staff really nice too.
Cons: Location: Next to a couple of loud bars. Ask to be placed on the second floor and across the hall from the bar or if you are a light sleeper you will have problems. We were able to sleep perfectly.

Pros: Really liked the location and simplicity.
Cons: The water pressure was so low, the ladies could not wash their hair. Neighboring bars were noisy, but surprisingly, we weren’t really bothered by it in our room(fan helped).
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location is great, very central. The staff are very nice, helpful with local tips and advice. Our room was serviced with a nice touch and cleaned well. Just remember to bring air plugs because of the central location it can be noisy.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very nice and stylish space, very central, staff very nice.
Cons: I wish the room had a window but the hotel is inside an old, traditional building and thats how its designed i guess. Perhaps better lighting would help?
Good 6.7
Pros: The room was very clean. It was in a great location, everything you need is walking distance. Close to the downtown area and all the beautiful things Oaxaca has to offer.
Cons: The beds were small and the pillows were flat. Bed was not comfortable at all. Second the place did not have AC! It was about 85 degree weather everyday and the room was hot! So uncomfortable to sleep at night or even hang out in our room. They need to fix. Otherwise, we will not be returning to El Nito.
