We couldnt fault anything else, the staff were absolutely fantastic
The only thing i could fault was the heat, it was so hot! We woke up at 4am sweating and had to open the windows to cool the room down.
Small room Hotel needs refurbishment Slow breakfast service
The hotel's location is great, being well within walking distance of large sandy beaches and the town . The staff on reception were lovely, very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant, bar and bistro were excellent areas.
The service was slow, due, I think, to being short staffed and through no fault of the staff themselves. There was a good selection of breakfast food, but unfortunately on our last morning, we were not served the cooked breakfast which we had already paid for. Three other couples who came in 10 minutes after we did were served before us. We continued to wait a further half an hour trying to catch the waiter/waitresses eye, but to no avail. Sadly we had to leave the restaurant then as we had to go. We had an ocean view, double room and although the view of the sea was lovely, it was spoiled by the black mould on the inside of the window frame, curtains with a lot of dust at the top and the large asphalt, flat roof which had numerous pieces of broken paving slabs on it. The shower worked well with plenty of lovely warm water, but was spoiled by the grime and mould caught on the bottom of the sliding doors and in the runner. There was a stale drain smell in the bathroom too. The bed was a good size, being king size, but quite hard and the duvet cover looked like it had seen better days, being a dirty-white colour instead of white, and the runner was covered with bobbles. The whole room looked a bit shabby with scuff marks and a few patches of chipped or mould stained paint on the walls. The sides of the carpet in the corridor outside our room and towards the lift were full of fluff and dust, as was the runner for the lift doors, and there was a disconcerting grating sound when the lift doors opened or shut, dare say they just need a bit of WD40. At the very least, a good thorough clean and a lick of paint would greatly improve the bedrooms.
Such friendly staff, even made the dog welcome. A nice touch: received a little 'doggy pack' on arrival with food/water mats, poo-bag, suggested walks/map, please do/don't rule sheet. Fab location. Good value for money. Very clean. The wi-fi is fantastic and had a full signal at all times. Had some food from the Bistro but ate in our rooms, was delicious! And no trouble to tray it up for for us. I had gone down there for an interview but made a few days of it with my son and our dog too. Was ideal place to stay for both.
We had a special offer for our group & the hotel was very close to the seaside. Staff at the hotel was confident and talkative, The hotel supposed to have a great facilities. The food in bistro was excellent! Quick check in process, plenty of parking, WiFi.
The booking process - took ages to contact Liza, at the end we were not certain how much would be the cost of the studio hire, long time to reply, no calls back, we were ignored. The group rates offered were 40% higher than booking offered to us. Actually no help for group, just reminders that we should not be a stag party after every booking we made. The hotel is slightly outdated but the forst SPA -did not work and if you come to the swimming poole on your own, than you cannot get in. THE RULES DO NOT ALLOW to go to swimming poole on your own even it was opened until 9pm we cannot use it! Understaffed. Breakfast - was ordered at 09:30 and we could get it only at 09:50, 20 minutes it is a long time for English Breakfast, at 09:35 no cheese not much left at the buffet even breakfast was served until 09:45. No mugs, no plates no porridge, no cheese, no cold meet :( So make sure you arrive at 09:30 or earlier to have a breakfast. 10 rooms booked and after the payment was taken was another £5 extra charge + email saying that for this charge we must provide another CREDIT CARD or whole group booking would be cancelled? Strange, a bit overcharged without explanation why.
