The staff at the front desk were super friendly! The location was perfect for a short walk to bourbon street! Beautiful outside and old/new New Orleans feel on the inside.
The walls were paper thin, and you could hear everything outside of your room and on the street.
Very quaint and very New Orleans. Excellent location to Bourbon St. Close enough to feel like you are right on Bourbon St without a lot of foot foot traffic or people being down that way. A block away from Rampart St and Louis Armstrong Park.
Street noise from vehicles and trash trucks every morning at about 4 o'clock. It's located right at the street and our room was able to hear all the sounds of the passing traffic outside. We didn't hear many people walking from Burbon Street, but noise from the traffic was impossible to miss.
The top reasons to stay here are the classic wrought iron balcony and the location (we didn't take a cab our entire trip--New Orleans was extremely walkable from the hotel). The balcony is shared among all hotel guests, so you have to keep your curtains closed tightly, but it's still nice to sit out there in the morning or at night.
We had a room on the corner, directly across the street from the "700 Club" bar. We could hear noisy patrons in the street every night of the week until about 3am. It wasn't as loud as Bourbon, but it was noticeable (talking, singing, even sneezing). Trucks and motorcycles also rumbled by pretty often. Some of the rooms faced different directions, including an inner courtyard, so they may not all be this loud. The room interior was decent, but felt a little old and creaky and sparsely decorated.
There is no breakfast. Run down and dirty. Staff is O.K.
The room. The cleanliness. No refrigerator, hair blower missing and the bed left me needing a chiropractor. The pictures are a fraud.
The only 2 things I liked about the property was the fact that it had Aveda hair products and the location.
What I didn’t like about the property was the amount of roaches outside. The sheets on the bed were absolutely filthy (looked like blood and pee), I asked the second night of our stay for them to be changed.. the cleaning lady said “I’m only giving you more towels and emptying your trash..” The customer service and lastly the cleanliness. We arrived and the front desk let us know we didn’t have WIFI or internet (it was down) whatever I understand, it happens. But with that being said their systems were down to pay, the gentleman let us know that we already pre paid for the first night and we’ll have to come down the next morning to pay the rest! Perfectly fine! So we did, it was still down. The 3rd day of our stay we get a note under our door... saying come down at your earliest convenience. It was 8am, everyone was still sleeping not even an hour later we get a bang bang on our door saying we need to pay by 3 or we are getting kicked out. Seriously!? Haha this place is a joke and the only reason I gave it any stars was because of the location.
