Absolutely amazing location and the most accommodating staff. Everyone went above and beyond to assist and make sure that we had everything we needed. Would love to go back.
Food quality is rather poor. And not a lot of Jamaican cousins.
The hideaway restaurant, Dorado, was fantastic. The Chilean sea bass was what you would expect at a top-tier restaurant. The service was classy and respectable. Overall the resorts decor and design was very classy and well-appointed. We had a couples massage that was worth every penny!
This resort is not for those looking for a quiet romantic getaway. The pool is always loud with a member of the hotel’s “Vibe team” creating some activity, work out, or game. It feels like a spring break experience most would be looking for in a Cancun resort with college friends. Additionally, it did not seem like there was any one person in charge of anything. We made reservations for the Zen restaurant one night, only to find out an hour and a half before dinner that the restaurant was closed that night... every week. It turns out someone gave us a reservation but had no idea the workings of the resort. Seems like that happened a lot: told we could do this, but in reality no you can’t, or this can’t happen, turns out no problem mon. Lots of inconsistency. Overall it’s a classy place, just needs to tighten up around the edges and you need to know what kind of experience you’re getting. Also, no olive juice at the martini bar is a very small thing, but a good place example of not hitting the mark.
The Royalton Negril recently opened in 2017 as an upscale, family-friendly, all-inclusive resort with tons of features and a pleasant beachfront setting along Bloody Bay. The Royalton’s affordable rates combined with comfortable accommodations and plenty of amenities make this resort one of the best vacation values.
The hotel sits along the southern section of Bloody Bay, which is a pleasant strip of sand with calm water and a quieter scene than most areas. There's little in the immediate area aside from other resorts, though the Kool Runnings Water Park is only a 14-minute walk or two-minute drive away. For a livelier scene, Seven Mile Beach is a five-minute drive south, where there are lots of restaurants, bars, and jerk shacks. Rick's Cafe, a popular spot for cliff-diving, music, and drinks, is only a 16-minute drive away.
As an all-inclusive resort, most guests spend their days on the beach lounging or engaging in the non-motorized, free water sports or at one of the pools offered on-site. Diamond Club members are offered a private section of the beach, as well as an exclusive ocean-view pool with a swim-up bar. For ultimate pampering, the full-service Royal Spa offers a variety of treatments. Diamond members also receive luxurious benefits at the spa. Fun aquafit classes, sunrise yoga, and kickboxing are popular at the on-site fitness facilities. Meeting and event space is also available for business and pleasure.
Lots of restaurants on-site include several themed eateries, a steakhouse, teppanyaki spot, and Italian eatery, plus there are several bars, but top-shelf liquor is only free for Diamond Club members. The 407 rooms at the resort are fresh and spacious, equipped with jetted tubs, outdoor spaces, free WiFi, and coffeemakers.

Additionally, there are sports such as beach volleyball, dance classes, and weight-training classes that are led by professional instructors. For a small additional fee, you can take scuba diving lessons in one of the hotel’s several pools, with courses being offered for both beginner and intermediate students.
For those that would like to spend a special holiday at the Resort & Spa, there are many celebrations and events for you to choose from. A brunch and beach party are always thrown for Mother’s Day, while Father’s Day is accompanied by a BBQ and Olympic style beach activities. New Year’s Eve is one of the hotel’s most popular holidays, and there are always several dinner choices, dancing, live music, and a Moet Chandon champagne bar.
For couples that will be staying at the Resort & Spa, consider booking the special packages, as you will receive many amenities, including a beachfront dinner for two, a couple’s massage, and a bottle of sparkling wine. If you will be at the hotel with your friends, you may find packages which include 2 bottles of champagne, 4 cigars, 2 bottles of wine, and access to the resort’s hydrotherapy pools.
To help reduce your blood pressure and increase your body’s mobility, make a reservation for the Regenerative Massage, a treatment that can last between 25 to 80m. The Royal Lotus Wrap is a particularly popular treatment, as it consists of a light exfoliation and a full-body mask that will leave you feeling smooth and happy. If you end up spending a lot of time in the sun, select the After Sun Facial, which lasts for 50m and will help to reduce redness. For those that will be having their wedding at the Resort & Spa, there is the Bridal Package that includes several services, snacks, and sparkling wine for up to four people.
