The room was a really nice style of room, well decorated, with comfortable beds. The balcony view was stunning to say the least. Checkin was relatively simple. However, there is not much in the way of public transport about. There is a bus which seems to run at irregular intervals but we never could figure it out. The metro is only about 500m away but it is all uphill to the hotel (really steep) - don't make the mistake we made and walk up with bags - definitely get a taxi from the metro to the hotel. There is also not much in the way of facilities about. There does seem to be a small convenience store down the street but it is not open all the time and we did not go. Breakfast is really nice and filling and is served/prepared by Salvatore. Sometimes you get eggs too but this depends on his mood! All in all a nice room but I am not sure if I would stay there again in summer (see my description below re the ac)
The airconditioner was just not up to the task. It blew air but was not cold. I guess that this could have been to do with the temperature in Napoli (it was hot when we were there) but no matter what we did we could not get it to run cool. This really affected our sleep. We were able to open the balcony windows but this gave little relief. I suspect that the ac needs to be either serviced or replaced. Also the hotel has their own driver, Salvatore (the same guy that serves breakfast). He drove us to Pompeii and Herculaneum for a day tour, at (what I think anyway) was a reasonable price for an all day trip. However make sure to check all prices before you agree to being driven about though. One comment as well - the driving "style" in Napoli can be pretty challenging for someone who is not a local and it does take a bit of getting used to. They drive really fast and seem to take a lot of risks. If you are a nervous passenger it might be better to stick to public transport. I did not notice this problem in other Italian cities (for example, Rome, where I took a lot of cabs).
Aircon was not working properly
Staff very attentive and friendly. Room was clean, very spacious especially by European standards. Nice view of the Harbour in the distance. Very safe and secure which was important to us. Nice terrace balcony where we ate breakfast.
Air conditioner did not fully cool the room as it is not central air but rather a single unit. Shower a bit tight.
Comfortable bed. Staff very helpful with booking cabs etc.
Bathroom was dirty, drain blocked so puddles of water on the floor made it very slippery to use the loo.
It was very practical and pleasant
The breakfast a bit poor
