Lovation
Part of our group didn’t get their room on time. Then the hotel gave that same room to others so people walked in on them. My room had only half roll toilet paper. No drinking cups nothing. No extras at all. Door had to be slammed shut. Tub wouldn’t drain. Shower barely worked. They told us no non fires yet they were having them and completely smoked out our room. Would NEVER stay here. By the way they charge a resort fee but there’s nothing that you get for that money pool is not open hot tub is drained and there is literally nothing else you can do there besides play on the beach the beach is free.
The ocean
Book some place elsewhere
Nothing. Couldn't get out of there quickly enough.
The place is dirty, rooms are depressing and outdated. There marketing photos are misrepresentation.
Nothing
Location was amazing and the lounge/lobby/bar area was beautiful!
The rooms smelled musty/moldy and for the price were not worth it. I expected a nicer room, better toiletries, and a better bed. It felt like a motel.
Right on the beach...restaurant was excellent
We wanted to leave a day earlier...gave them plenty of notice but were turned down...they easily could have resold the room
Needs work but nice location
Right on the beach
Pool towel had mild stains, chipped paint throughout, first room they put me in was an absolute dark hole with no view, second room was better but small. This hotel was made over but very cheaply.
Not as expected!
The lobby
Rooms are not nice at all. The pictures on the website are deceiving. The cleanliness is really awful. When we told all this to the manager, he tried switching us to a different room but we didn't accept as it was exactly the same. At that point the manager told us that we shouldn't expect more from a 3-star hotel. So if you care about your room being clean, and overpaying for an upscale motel, then avoid this hotel.
Aging again, budget friendly, no surprises.
Even with a nice veneer, the age of this once run down motel is starting to show through again. Small rooms and an odor from the sewer system. You get what you pay for. Service, usually good, was halting on this visit.
Location is the best in Monterey. Staff is helpful and courteous.
They should put foldable beach chairs on the balconies to enjoy the view even more.
Restaurant Staff
Terrible wait staff. It was almost like we were inconveniencing them. After we order we don't see them again until the check.
You don't get what you pay for!
Clean room, safe door, beach access.
No pool or jacuzzi as advertised! Construction all over the place! They NEED to lower their prices until they get all the construction done. I wouldn't go their again just because they charge extreme prices and a "resort" fee for something that doesn't exist! Obviously not a place you can trust since they are still charging the same fee while they have ongoing construction that makes it impossible to use the facilities they advertise. Room was clean, comfortable bed, but our "garden view" room literally looked down into boards, saws, tools and half done empty pool. Beach access is really the only reason to go here until they finish their "resort".
