Breakfast was delicious and the coffee and latte machiato were excellent!
From the underground parking till you reach the lobby there’s a very complicated labyrinth, at least six doors to go left and right.
The hotel was within walking distance of the train station. Check-in was very straight forward. The bedroom was well furnished with a table and two armchairs, and the bed was also very comfortable. I was impressed with the size of the wardrobe, plenty of space for my cases and clothes. The bathroom was also excellent. The shower had plenty of room and there was ample space for my washbag. Room also had a balcony. The hotel had a very good selection at breakfast, that included six preserves, a selection of cereals and breads, meats and scrambled eggs, fruit juice. Coffee was brought to your table in a pot. That is always a winner with me. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were very polite and helpful.
Nothing I can think of.
A lovely hotel not far from the station and in central Mayrhofen. Shops, cafes and restaurants are plentiful. About a fifteen minute walk to the end of town where the ski lifts are situated but it's a very pleasant walk. Beautiful rooms, great bathroom, great balcony, superb breakfast and friendly very helpful staff. Good internet. A most enjoyable stay.
It would have been nice to have a kettle and coffee available 24 hours
I stayed at Posthotel in the winter/spring off-season (because of the Snowbombing festival in April). It is well positioned, parallel to the main street in a quieter area of Mayrhofen (the center can be loud during Snowbombing). I slept there for one week and had to unexpectedly bring my small furry puppy Minnie with me (instead of one friend with whom we were supposed to share the double/triple room). First of all, I was really happy that I booked this hotel because it turned out to be accepting guests with pets. There were no comments regarding extending the reservation for my puppy for 10 Euros per day or my arriving too late. The cleaning ladies were also dog-friendly :-). I was even offered a separated table at breakfast, so that the other guests were not disturbed because of the dog. The staff was young, helpful and smiled back all the time. There's also an underground sauna area (with two out of three functional saunas at the time of my staying there), tax-free for the hotel guests. Parking was free in front of the hotel but there's also an underground parking, amazingly also free (shared with the appartments next door). Breakfast was very ok for me, the only thing I did not found that tasty was the instant coffee. But there are plenty of bars and terraces nearby where you can serve a genuine coffee :-) The double room we stayed in had a balcony and was big and comfortable enough to also accomodate an extra bed. The second thing I found EXCEPTIONALLY POSITIVE and really impressed me is that the staff took the initiative (without me asking them!) in changing the fixed reservation to my advantage (they also took the trouble to contact Booking in this respect because of the booking charges). I have never (ever!) encountered such an amiable and forthcoming attitude from a hotel staff, let alone it was of course not their fault that my friend did not show up.
The instant coffee at breakfast, but that's only because I'm a coffee-freak :-)
