A friend and I spent three nights in this wonderful riad in a quiet area of the medina. Its charming courtyard, majestically dominated by a beautiful tree, is perfect for relaxing after a day visiting the city. Our room, on the ground floor, was clean and cozy. Breakfast was excellent, abundant and varied. All the staff was extremely kind and professional, always eager to help, and made our stay simply perfect. On the day when we arrived, Habid, the riad manager, gave us plenty of information about the city (and a delicious tea!) and walked us to Jemaa el-Fna square to help us easily orient ourselves. And he was always making sure that we were fine. A big thank you to all the staff for making us feel at home! For those who prefer to stay really really close to restaurants: this area of the medina is mostly residential and the nearest restaurants are at a 15-min walk approx. Which is not a long walk, anyway!! I would definitely come back to Riad Davia, and would recommend it for sure!!
Our stay was just great!
The Hotel Manager was very nice and he upgraded our room without taking any money for it! The rooms I have seen are very comfortable and the riad is in a whole very beautifully done.
The only thing I would claim to be unfortunate is the location of the riad which is 17 minutes walking distance form the main square. On the other hand because of its greater distance to all tourists attraction we got to see how local people live, which was quite exciting!
We were so well cared for at Riad Davia. Starting with the breakfast, we are both gluten free, and each morning of our five nights stay, a gluten free local delight was brought for us to try, very grateful for such care taken. Habib the hotel manager and Zinah the chef are both delightful and kind and Habib organised a wonderful mountain trip for us with a friendly, driver and lovely, 'goat footed' mountain guide who trekked us up past the most beautiful waterfalls and views, definitely a highlight day of the trip. One night we ate in and Zinah prepared a delicious 3 course meal for us, the fish tagine was perfect, probably the best meal of our trip and we had some great ones locally and at Essaouira. All the riad staff were lovely and our room was luxurious and spotlessly clean with a window view over the pretty riad courtyard and an amazing bathroom with a glass roof. The roof terrace was accessed by a stair off the main door and we enjoyed a few early evenings there under sunny skies on comfy loungers or in the shade on the opposite side. The main medina was about 15 minutes walk away and Habib kindly explained and showed us a route to the main square the first night. Highly recommend a stay!
The rooms where extremely comfy, very spacious and clean! the manager took special care, waiting up on you every night coming in. The manager even walked me into the square, sat up for a chat in the communal area and was always available via text for any questions or help!!
bit of a long walk to the square but you got used to it
Fantastic Riad in crazy Medina! A little off noisy street. Habib and all the staff will look after. Great experience and thanks again!
