The location is just next to Machu Picchu, which is very convenient. And we highly recommend to book all inclusive package, which the dinner, room services and breakfast is included. Also, after Hiking from Machu Picchu and Waynapicchu, my husband and I were sweaty and dirty, the hotel provides a changing room for us where we can take a shower and rest and have a drink there. What a great experience. Lastly, the staff was nice and friendly. Highly recommended!!
I suggest the hotel could add the shaver in the room is case the man need it.
It was amazing to have Machu Picchu in your backyard and be steps from the entrance. The grounds were beautiful and had a lot of places to sit and just enjoy the view. The spa was tucked away and was very serene and quiet.
Exceptional hospitality by all the staff. The location can also not be better.
I took the whole package... what do I mean about this... I stayed in the Belmond Monasterio took the Belmond Hiram Bingham Train and stayed Belmond Sanctuary Lodge. If you are planning to visit Machu Picchu for more than a day trip then I suggest that you stay at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge. It's literally 30 feet from the entrance to Machu Picchu. The best part of sleeping at the Sanctuary Lodge is that when you wake up you have an amazing view of the mountain and you buy your ticket online if you didn't already do so and enter and tour Machu Picchu; and the other best part of staying here is that after trekking around Machu Picchu for hours you can just enter the Lodge and enjoy the comfort of your bed. I had the pleasure of staying a night so I had a fresh ceviche and great fish dish. For breakfast I was served Eggs Benedict and French Toast. On my next trip to Machu Picchu I will definitely revisit my stayes at both Belmond Monasterio and Belmond Sanctuary Lodge and I will definitely use the Belmond Hiram Bingham Train to get there.
Luxury and tranquility. Enjoyed the pisco lesson at the bar. Mingled with other guests. Dinner was delicious. Breakfast was generous, fresh and varied. Had room service.
Shame about the bus noise, but once the site was closed, it was just so peaceful. Got an upgrade to a nicer room which was much appreciated, harldy hear the buses. The orchid garden with the hummingbirds is beauftiful.
Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, Machu Pichu attracts visitors from all over the globe to Peru. Only one hotel sites at the entrance to this entrancing Incan citadel and that is the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge Machu Pichu.
Featuring only 31 guest rooms, this hotel has earned the word sanctuary in its name. First, the unparalleled location allows guests to beat the majority of the visitors heading to the ruins. Secondly, the hotel’s amenities and facilities simply ooze tranquility. Standard rooms feature one king or two twin beds, as well as satellite television, a minibar, and a marble bathroom. Some of the upgrades include rooms that feature panoramic mountain view and a furnished terrace.
With the ruined Inca citadel being the main attraction driving guests to the hotel, a focus on the indigenous culture and history can be found throughout the recreational activities offered. Guided treks and tours will give guests an amazing experience at the ruins, and an Incan Pachamama Tribute Ceremony will immerse visitors in the historic culture.
The Tampu Restaurant is considered a destination for foodies nestled in the remote Andes Mountains. Featuring a menu built around produce grown on the establishment, guests can sample elevated Peruvian cuisine for a dining experience that is hard to match. Serving both coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening, the accompanying Tampu Bar is exclusively available to hotel guests and allows visitors to start the day of strong or unwind comfortably in the evening.
For those looking to cross a visit to Machu Pichu off their bucket list, it’s hard to surpass the experience of the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge Machu Pichu.
