The location is great
It’s getting a bit old now and requires a bit of an update
We were upgraded to a larger room, so it was fantastic. The bed was huge.
Location and breakfast
Pricey really for the standard of the hotel and room. Needs updating! Wasn't really a superior room two single beds put together and rubbish tv system!
Good night's sleep and friendly staff. Will definately be back.
Mattress was a little uncomfy on the pull out bed as we stayed in a triple room. You could feel the springs as it was too thin.
We were upgraded to the Clarendon from the Lancaster, so please note this review is for the CLARENDON. An excellent location in a lovely, converted old building. Our room at the Clarendon had wonderful floor to ceiling (almost) windows that we could prop open for cool evening air. Fans were provided for a bit of extra circulation which was nice. Staff (bell hop) was very helpful with our luggage and answering questions and was very friendly. He also recognized us later in the evening before we entered the hotel. Shake Shack is just an under-ten minute walk, the theater district is short cab ride away (about £7-15 depending on traffic), but the street the Clarendon is on is quite quiet. Not much traffic noise (foot or vehicle) at all which, considering we had the window open, would have been bothersome.
Pay attention to parking. Bloomsbury square is the closest, but it is very secure...for a reason. So just watch your things near the park.
