Location. I chose this place for the location near Rossio Station. Rooms are quiet despite the location. Comfortable beds.
Facilities are quite worn. Amenities are very basic, just a cheap body wash in the bathroom so bring your own. Floors not very clean so I'd advise you bring your own room slippers. No elevators! You definitely need to climb stairs as their ground floor is only the reception. Thankfully the staff helped with luggage (when checking in) but if your room is at the third or fourth floors, you still need to climb a lot of stairs every day. Kitchen on the first floor (one floor up from ground floor). Wi-Fi was quite slow.
location is so central, it doesn't get better than this. Preferred this over a hostel as it is comparable price and gives you a small room to sleep in which is OK, coz that is why i needed the place - to crash. Bathroom was very very clean and even though it was shared i never had any issues in access or cleanliness. The staff is very very helpful, arranged a cab for me at 3:45 am in the morning - gave super good recommendations. Again, location is on the Rossio square, next to metro and bus stops and walkable distance to major tourist locations. Highly highly recommended for a budget traveler.
Perfect location as it was just right across the Rossio Square at the back of the known Cafe Nicola. All around it were groceries / supermarkets , restaurants that served various cuisines, comfort fast food like Mcdonalds and Burger KIng and Starbucks. All around the square were different bus lines to go from one place to another ( basically the Lisbon Center is walkable ) It was a very good jump off point from anywhere else you would like to see in the center. Manno the front office guy was always ready to assist and answer questions
Although reviews about it said there was no elevator and it was going to be a challenge , We did not expect to be booked on the 5th floor ( literally and technically the 6th floor already since they count the 2nd floor as first floor ). We asked the following day of our stay if we can change rooms since there were a bit of mosquitoes plus having to put 2 single beds together to make it one big bed was pretty uncomfortable ( I booked for a double room thinking it has one double bed or a queen size bed but alas the room had 4 single beds ) I also booked for something with a balcony ( I didnt get that ) The room we got had its own toilet and bath but that did not make up for the fact that we were on the topmost floor of a building with no elevator. For the price , it was as hefty as the other hostels around it. This is a place for younger people , back packers will appreciate it maybe but not families or middle aged couples like us who had to bring up and down our medium size luggages ( thank God we did not think of bringing full size 31 kgs luggages). And oh despite the towels being replaced on the first 2 days , one towel we got had holes on it we did'nt bother to use it and instead use our own. Do not expect toiletries only tissue paper was provided for in the toilet. Again for the price , I believe you can get a better accommodation than this. Also , this is not an airconditioned accommodation so skip it when you are in Lisbon during the summer.
The bed was so hard you felt like you were sleeping on the floor! The pillows were so flat it made my neck hurt!!! The showers were absolutely horrible. The water barely trickled out. You couldn't regulate the water it was either extremely hot or cold!
Great location easy to walk to everything & public transport nearby. The room at the front are very noisy at night
Rather noisy at night
