Barranco is cool. This hostel was a nightmare
Can safely say this was the worst hostel experience of my life. After nearly a month backpacking in Ecuador and Peru, I have stayed in quite a few spots that are considered party hostels. Generally while loud, you can expect for it to quiet down by around 1 or 2am. At the point, this is not the case. The music blared and the party raged until 5am. The room we were in was somehow directly in the middle of the hostel, with a window that opened onto the common space where people were partying and smoking well into the morning. When I woke up at 6am to use the toilet, I was only able to find one stall that wasn’t plugged or covered in vomit. Absolutely awful experience, you can get much better for the same price elsewhere in Lima. Unless you are looking for an absolutely rockus party and zero sleep, do not stay here. Common areas were also lacking, and the entire space had the smell of a dingy old building that has not been cleaned properly. The rooms have very rickety old bunks with unreliable lockers and very little privacy. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere else
Amazing hostel! I’m back here for a second time and I’ll be coming back again. Pocahontas is amazing!!! My stay was the best out of any other hostel thanks to her! Really can’t say enough good things about this girl!!! Please be there when I come back again!!

Staff was super nice
Really nice hostel with helpful staff and clean rooms. The common areas are spacious and it is on a pretty street that is on the cliff top and close to everything. One thing to note is there weren't enough outlets for all the beds in my room but it wasn't that big of a deal and it would not take away from me staying here again!
