Overview

In a quiet spot off the motorway, the Best Western Hotel Windorf, Leipzig, Germany, sits near Leipzig's new lakeland, with spacious rooms, free Wi-Fi, oversized beds, a conservatory restaurant, a garden restaurant in summer, a hotel bar, four conference rooms, and free parking with an electric-car charger. The new lakes, an arena and the zoo lie close by, with the centre of Leipzig about seven kilometres away. An amusement park is a short drive off. Leipzig is a lively city of music and history in Saxony, where Johann Sebastian Bach worked at the Thomaskirche and the peaceful protests of 1989 helped bring down the Wall. The St Thomas Boys' Choir still sings where Bach once led it, a towering monument recalls the great battle that defeated Napoleon, and old mining pits south of the city have flooded into a sparkling new lakeland. Galleries and music halls fill the lively centre.
