As always, fantastic hotel with wonderful staff
Right from the get go the staff is always wonderful - at check in, Eric was wonderful in getting us set up with a room change in the lakefront area with no hassles. The hotel has a wonderful method of sending text messages to check in with you to see how your stay is going and if you need anything. Upon getting to our room after check in, we got our first text asking if anything was needed...we mentioned two lights happened to be out in our room and immediately they offered to send someone...we said it was no rush but within minutes maintenance knocked on our door and addressed the issue. The hotel is a wonderful place and the amenities of being lakefront with the kayaks, paddleboats, SUP boards, etc are so worth it if you have kids. In the last 5 years we have not stayed anywhere else other than house rentals for ironman week. Love High Peaks.
The waitress at the reastraunt attached to hotel.
Enjoyed the room by the lake very much. Clean and comfortable.
No amenities such as coffee in lobby that most hotels offer these days...cookies, etc. For the amount charged I feel that they could offer a courtesy cup/sweet.
Nice hotel in center of town
Location, pools, lobby is great....very Adirondack
No tea in both the room and downstairs in the snack shop. That's just bizarre.....not everyone drinks coffee. Room we had was larger than most but terrible, no view, in corner of the hotel blocked by walk. The hotel wasn't full.....why give, anyone that room?
First Anniversary Stay
We had a superior view King room which had a great view of the lake and was convenient to parking. Room was clean and renovated. Easy walk to Main Street. Balcony to relax on in morning and evening. Access to Lake and kayaks.
It was perfect!
Great value, excellent view
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. Beautiful view of the lake, and Whiteface mountain. The room was spacious, and comfortable, as was the bathroom. Staff couldn't have been more friendly.
We ordered room service (breakfast), and it was just o.k. Service was prompt and friendly but the food was just o.k. We went to BC (breakfast club) down the road the 2nd morning, and that was excellent.
Shower was nice. Everything was clean. Great view.
Hot tub was not very hot
Very Good overall - hot "soaking" tub was disappoi
Liked everything except the hot tub.
Hot "soaking" tub was disappointment - we were all most looking forward to enjoying a real jacuzzi tub - this was luke warm and no bubbles. The lights in tub and pool did not work either.
The Dancing Bear restaurant was very over priced for the quality of the food. The outdoor heater was not working and it was a very cool night. When the waitress was seating us, we should have been advised that the heaters were not working. We visit Lake Placid often and will not return to this restaurant.
It's good nice bathroom and parti view. Carpets should be updated. Bed pretty comfortable. Room was clean
Lake front. And mountains
Tooooo many barking dogs left alone in room
spacious clean room
