Pros:Well managed hotel. Excellent staff, particularly male front desk agent March 20-21, he would be top notch customer service at any hotel. Room well stocked with toiletries, robe, etc. Nice complementary breakfast with several items selections changing day to day. Great price.
Cons:Location: between everything and close to nothing. Getting from Kyoto station with luggage is not convenient as you have to wait and change trains, ex post I would pay $9-10 for a taxi. The metro station is right next to hotel but it pretty much good for going 1 station up to Gion or several stations down to Inari (everything else is out of easy reach). Room: window covered with paper panel because it literary faces the wall of another building so effectively no window. Overall: if budget is important that's a great hotel, if you'd rather pay more for a better experience, it is not.
